Masters of the Universe: Revolution (Netflix) - premieres 1/25/24

I'm in the minority in that I really enjoyed Masters of the Universe: Revelation, despite some gripes. So I am looking forward to the sequel.

I liked it, but that's a terrible name for the sequel (if you don't want to get them confused)

Definitely down for more Masters of the Universe content. It would be nice to get more than five episodes as Revelation left me wanting more and ten episodes split into two volumes of five episodes each didn’t feel like enough. I thought Revelation was a pretty good modern reboot/continuation though.

It looks really good. I also got a kick out of seeing Orko and Gwildor side by side. I hope She-Ra has a role to play in this as well.

Burned through the 5 eps this morning. Lots of fun and some great visuals. I enjoyed Revelation but this was better.

I did the same this evening. What a fantastic ride! I loved all the callbacks to the old show, the comics that came with the original toys, the acknowledgement of the live action movie, as well as nods the the 2002 animated series.

And, yes, despite my enjoyment of Revelation, I too feel that Revolution was better.

Spoiler:
I can't wait to see Adora/She-Ra in Part II. But does anyone else get the vibe that they will say she's Keldor's daughter, rather than Randor's? Heteropaternal superfecundation, maybe?

So they are recognizing the MOTU film as part of this series. Badass.

Enjoyed Revolution more than Revelation.

Spoiler:
I don’t think so. They are following the Hordak kidnapping her plot that they showed in the flashback. I’m guessing Keldor remembers it now and that will play into it.

I totally got that. But
Spoiler:
Keldor's reaction in the flashback had more of a desperate, pleading father vibe. Then again, perhaps he didn't know Hordak was going to steal his niece and that betrayal is what later led to the memory wipe.

I just watched it again and goddamn, they gave Keith David and Tony Todd some kickass dialog.

So far I like the new season aside from the weird tech type villains and the redesign of Skeletor. Also love Mark Hamill but he really is just doing his Joker voice. He didn’t do much to differentiate between Skeletor and Joker.

Although I loved the whole voice cast, for me the standout performance belongs to William Shatner. Absolutely phenomenal in this.
