Good episode tonight. Felt very "Two Tower-ish," with "Warg" riders.

Yes, we have. Those are dudes that ones Sabine whooped and then the remnants joined up with Baylan at the end of the last episode.

Then Ezra and Sabine took them on when said “red dudes” assaulted the caravan.

… and by the way, this was a great episode. I loved it.

Shoutout to the cameo that saved Hera’s rank.

I'm afraid not much of this worked for me tonight. (Thrawn's scenes being the notable exception) Will wait until the finale to give my final assessment overall, but it ain't looking good right now.

Not really liking Sabine (again I have no real reference not having watch the animated series) as she seems so selfish. Not telling Ezra what's going on and not immediately apologizing to Ahsoka for basically letting Thrawn loose on the galaxy. Not sure how much they plan to wrap up with a single episode. Thrawn escaping, Baylon doing whatever he is doing, Shin maybe having some doubt, Sabine coming clean, how do the rebels get back to the proper galaxy (if Thrawn escapes without them).

Cameo was great, and is that Senator (or whatever his title is) just an a-hole or is he secretly an Empire sympathizer?

He’s just an a-hole. But don’t worry, Hamato Xiono, the Senator from Hosnian Prime, was on planet when the Starkiller Base destroyed it in TFA.

Edit to Add: Hamato and his family were off planet when Hosnian Prime was destroyed. He spoke to his son, Kazuda, via the holonet after the destruction. So he’s still alive.

looks like the idea that the night troopers were some zombie badasses is false. they are just as inept as regular stormtroopers.

Re: Ahsoka (S1E07) - “Part Seven: Dreams and Madness” - 9/26/23

So Ahsoka bails out of her ship and lands in front of Baylan (instead of with Wren and Ezra). She tells him she "doesn't have time for this", battles him anywyas -- to a draw, accomplishes nothing and shows up almost late to help her friends. This is the kind of writing that drives me crazy in these shows. Since Thrawn understands the primary goal is to escape that galaxy, at least he's solely focused on that. I guess being focused is why he's brilliant?

Also, why did the space whales jump into hyperspace again? Wasn't the purpose of their journey to the different galazy to die and create more space bones?

Ahsoka was forced into the initial fight with Baylan. When Huyang gave her the opening to withdraw and help Sabine and Ezra she immediately took it. This isn't the same Ahsoka that fought Baylan on Seatos. Even Baylan recognized it after the battle. Looks like he will be stuck in this galaxy when everyone else departs.

As to the space whales... they were helping Ahsoka to cross galaxies not to die.

Another episode knocked out of the park. Chopper's reaction to C3PO being called 'just a droid'. You tell 'em Chop.

Really hoping for a second season and not just jump to the Filoni wrap-up movie.

So, in 10 years; Ezra couldn’t “call to the Purgill” to travel back? And if he needs to be in a ship, he couldn’t steal/hijack one in all that time?

This was the first one that I wasn't really feeling. I don't know what it was but none of the fights grabbed me. I want more Baylan and Shin. Ezra and Sabine feel too much like cartoon brought to live action, and not in a good way.

I'm wondering if Thrawn escapes the Galaxy at all. I mean, that would be a pretty huge galactic event for Thrawn to wage war on the Republic involving Jedi and Night Sisters and these huge heroes of the Republic only to be totally forgotten in the time before Awakens. I mean we still talk about and remember WW1 and WW2 and they brought Leia and 3PO into it which makes their involvement canon. Super Jedi Galactic mind wipe??

I mean Chopper was ready to throw hands on that Senator and I was so here for it.

When Baylan told Shin that he knows she wants to be part of a new Empire.... there was a half second where I thought she was Captain Phasma

Re: Ahsoka (S1E07) - “Part Seven: Dreams and Madness” - 9/26/23

Before Threepio walked in, I thought they were going to do a deepfake of Leia.

That scene did remind me what a missed opportunity it was (one of many in the sequel trilogy) that we never got an exchange between Leia and Caroline Blakiston's Mon Mothma before Fisher passed away. This is one character that Leia might have worked closely with in the New Republic who could share memories of her birth mother. Even if Mothma had long since retired, how nice if we'd gotten a meaningful scene of her providing council to Leia via hologram. That could have been lovely.

As for this episode, it mostly felt like wheelspinning. Hope the finale is able to salvage the show for me.

So the Night Sisters can use their Triforce balls and find Ashoka in 37 seconds, but Ezra hides out for 10 years, seemingly pretty closeby?

Didn’t they say they had a general idea where he was (what they told Sabine), but they weren’t ever really looking for him. He was not a concern.

I knew that as soon as Ezra refused to take the lightsaber that the small band of good guys would triumph and beat the overwhelming number of bad guys...and do it without incurring any injuries. Action sequences which have no real tension or weight. Seems to be the norm for this series.

He used the force to conceal himself. Didn't Luke do that in Last Jedi?

This guy writes an article for Forbes.com complaining about the color of the actors' contacts, and then calls everyone on Facebook who doesn't agree with him "inbreds"
