If they didn't show him in episode 5 (with the theatrical showings) I suspect we'll get a brief appearance at the end of episode 8. Probably just a zoom in from the back and a turn, maybe one line like "I rule the Empire now. Not some long-dead Emperor" just to get the book readers all hot and bothered.

This was one of the best episodes of any new Star Wars series to date.

This was the best episode of the series IMO, which is funny because Ahsoka is barely in it

Thrawn’s arrival and entrance was well done. I enjoyed the Baylan and Shin scenes.

Awesome episode. This is the one that should have been played in theaters, not the one from last week.

Dug Thrawn's army. I like how they have patched up armor. His main stormtrooper leader "Enoch" looks badass.

I hope the next season is a season long battle against Thrawn. As a huge fan of the original Thrawn Trilogy I always wished that any sequels to the OT would be based on those books. Seems like we'll be getting a build up for next season with getting the Rebels back together and Thrawn massing an army.

I have no words.

That was beautiful.

… and I kinda think the hermit crab hobbits are adorable.

Good stuff! Not sure I can classify it as great, but a very strong episode for sure. (three in a row now, that's encouraging!) Really hoping for a solid last couple of episodes.

Well, that was.... EXCELLENT! Maybe the best episode of all the D+ SW shows aside from Luke's appearance in The Mandalorian. Visually beautiful, large landscapes and very few sets, new characters -- and that patch-work army is awesome. This felt like a true Star Wars movie in 45 minutes.

Weird that it took barely a day for Sabine to find Ezra, but Thrawn couldn't? I'm intrigued at what motive Baylan has.

Likely all by design, seems like he has had a bigger plan in place since he got there and realize any place. I'm sure Ezra also realizes that it's futile and try and take down Thrawn.

My question is, not having watched Rebels, is Sabine always this reckless, for lack of a better term. Seems like she's pretty selfish and a bit dodgy keeping secrets.

Sabine held the Darksaber in the series, but didn't feel she was a good fit to lead Mandalore so she unselfishly handed it to Bo-Katan.

After all that build-up, Lars Mikkelsen didn't feel intimidating as Thrawn to me. I had fan cast Jason Isaacs in my head and he probably would have been an improvement. I also think Morgan Elsbeth lacks any depth as a villain and her line delivery has been cringe inducing, but that's right in line with the prequel tone this series has been giving me.

That said, I agree that this is by far the best episode of the show. Enjoyed all the stuff with Sabine traveling the wasteland on her giant beast and her run-in with the hermit crab clan. Felt like 80s medieval fantasy set in the Star Wars universe, which is a vibe I can get behind.

I believe it's a carry over from the Clones Wars cartoon, but it was cool to see the Nightsisters costumes were recycled from early concept art for Darth Maul

Lars Mikkelsen voiced Thrawn in Rebels so it was a natural fit to get him for the series.

The Nightsisters and Maul are from the same planet, Dathomir.

The Dathomir witch concept came from Charal in Ewoks: Battle for Endor, correct? I'm not even sure that movie is still canon, but they continue to borrow stuff from it (like the Blurrg creature in The Mandalorian). Maybe we'll get the long-awaited return of Teek next.

I wish that Zeb would have hitched a ride with Carson Teva.

Isn't that a contradiction to what happened on The Mandalorian? Didn't Din Djarn want to just give Bo-Katan the saber, but she refused it as it needed to be to be "won"?
Getting back to Sabine, so are you saying her current actions are out of character?

Yes, her current attitude is out of character. We've yet to find out why she had a falling out with Ahsoka in the years between Rebels and this series. Whatever that turning point was may have something to do with it.

Ok, that's what I wanted to know. We watched 10-15 minutes recaps of Clone Wars and Rebels, so we didn't get a feel for the characters, just major plot points.

Every time I see Thrawn it throws me off because it looks too much like Robert Patrick.
