Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets (HBO/Max) -- Premieres 8/8/23
HBO and NFL Films are joining forces this summer for HARD KNOCKS: TRAINING CAMP WITH THE NEW YORK JETS. The five-episode series debuts TUESDAY, AUGUST 8 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET) on HBO and will be available to stream on Max, with additional hour-long episodes debuting subsequent Tuesdays at the same time leading up to the season finale on September 5.
HARD KNOCKS: TRAINING CAMP WITH THE NEW YORK JETS will mark the 18th edition of the 18-time Sports Emmy(R)-winning series, embedding camera crews at the Jets' training camp in Florham Park, N.J. to chronicle third-year head coach Robert Saleh preparing his team of young emerging stars and prominent veterans -- most notably, four-time NFL MVP, Aaron Rodgers, Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner, and defensive All-Pros C.J. Mosley and Quinnen Williams -- for the upcoming NFL season.
"NFL Films has a long and storied relationship with the Jets, from the early days of the AFL and Joe Namath's '#1' salute after Super Bowl III, to The Sack Exchange, and the team's first appearance on Hard Knocks in the midst of back-to-back AFC Championship Game appearances," said Patrick Kelleher, Executive Producer, NFL Films. "The 2010 Jets changed the profile and the success of 'Hard Knocks' forever. That Jets team made football fun for fans. And now we are excited for a new partnership with this iconic organization and HBO to create another chapter in both NFL and television history filled with great personalities and a roster striving to reach new heights of success."

Premieres next Monday. 5 episodes.
I feel like Hard Knocks has some discussion for maybe 1-2 weeks, then everyone here completely loses interest afterwards. I don't even remember if anyone here talked about the Lions show last year.

I know they are the sexy team for 2023 but I was hoping for the Bears or a team that has never done the show to appear this year.

Camoflauge. Not a good look. You want bright hunter orange so the cougars can see you.
So were the Jets.

I heard the Jets won't allow cameras in the room during cuts. Of all the "drama" on this show, that is the best part, IMO. The process is handled with care and class by all members so I don't see the big deal to not include it.

Because the Jets were forced into this. They didnt want to do it. Its a shame no other team stepped up and volunteered.

Hasn't that been the case for a while? Have to admit I haven't paid as much attention as I used to.

I think it's fine to make it a team decision (especially if the team on the show has clearly stated they don't want to be on Hard Knocks at all). Care and class or not, you're crushing a man's lifelong dream of playing in the NFL. Keeping that off camera seems like a reasonable request.

They should change the rules and make all teams that have not done the show eligible or contracted to do that show.

Why? They have rules that seem fair. Why force a perennial Playoff participant to have to do Hard Knocks if they currently are exempt? And it seems unfair to scrutinize a first year head coach in his first training camp.

Those rules are BS
All the teams are required or will eventually have to play games overseas and play on Thurs night so what makes doing Hard Knocks any more different or special where there is a criteria?
It is the price you pay for being in the NFL.
I bet HBO would love to have the NFC Least teams like the Giants and Eagles to do it.

This comes back tonight. Really looking forward to this year. Aaron Rodgers is as much of an enigma as any recent superstar athlete.

I'm looking forward to watching. I may not be able to watch until Sunday or Monday though. I always consider the first episode of Hard Knocks the start of football season.

Maybe it is a too high of a bar to reach but it this is as good or better than the 2010 Jets this could be fun.

Decent first episode. I like how they frame the Jets as basically the Joe Namath era, 50 years of nothing, and then Aaron Rodgers.
I’m sure they edited it to show his best stuff but Rodgers was looking sharp out there. Hard Knocks did a good job of sucking his nuts this episodes. Not unexpected but humorous.
Liev Schreiber showing up in a helicopter.
The coaches all acting like little bitches around the Hard Knocks crew was amusing as well.

I remember when Jeff Ulbrich played for the Niners in the early aughts
You know you are getting old when you see players you watch become coaches.
It is disrespecting Liev Schrieber the voice of God when these teams refuse to do Hard Knocks.
I will always remember Saleh for this great moment in LA with this 4th down stop in 2019.

I did not know Rex Ryan did the Amazing Race.
It is still hard to watch Aaron Rodgers when he should have been a Niner.
49ers would have won 2 or 3 Lombardis in this century with Rodgers but instead they got Alex Smith who can lead your offense to the 20 or 30 yard line for a field goal attempt.

LOL
The biggest sign you are getting older is when everybody playing in the NFL is younger than you and that happened sometime during the mid to late aughts.
Adam Vinaterri was the last guy older than me and then retired.
I wonder if Liev has a favorite team or tries to be a impartial observer?
