Alejandro is an aspiring toy designer from El Salvador, struggling to bring his unusual ideas to life in New York City. This got delayed due to the strikes.
It opened limited a few weeks ago and is now expanding to more theatres.

Saw this last weekend, and enjoyed it a lot. Torres is very good. Swinton is excellent!

I thought it was good, a independent, artsy, movie with a lighthearted feel to it, I think the narration was a good idea to follow the background on the characters. much like the movie Amelie.

Missed a chance to see this at the local theater down the street. It was only screening for a few days.

This is worth seeing. Although I'm a big fan of nasty films, I also appreciate comedies that are devoid of anything mean-spirited.
Tilda Swinton plays the most entertaining character I've seen in a movie so far this year. She reminds me so much of one of the women I work for, and I bet a lot of other viewers will recognized this type too.
I'm surprised more movies don't delve into the financial realities of their characters. Alejandro's situation creates riveting suspense, and anxiety, and drama. Why do so many movies focus on contrived drama, when there is something so much stronger to play the audience with?
