Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026, D: Cretton) - S: Holland

Fans of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man are getting good news from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who confirmed in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly that Holland’s fourth “Spider-Man” movie is now being written. Marvel had one of its biggest hits ever with Holland’s third-outing, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which became the first pandemic release to gross over $1 billion worldwide.

“All I will say is that we have the story,” Feige said about Holland’s anticipated “Spider-Man” return. “We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now.”

Whether or not Holland will once again team up with “Spider-Man” actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield remains to be seen. Both actors have expressed interest in returning for a new “Spider-Man” movie.

I'm glad that we're getting another Tom Holland Spider-man movie. I really like him as Peter Parker/Spider-man.

Good to hear. Spider-Man could end with the way No Way Home ended.

I like Maguire and Garfield but I don’t necessarily need to see them again. The third movie was fun but was mostly a fan service circle jerk. I’d like them to go in a different direction than multi-verse stuff. Of course at this point you can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube.

More Holland Spider-Man is fine by me. He’s been the best bar none though I didn’t hate Garfield’s version. I don’t think they should suckle at that teet again, bringing old back. 3rd was marvelous and should stay that way. We saw it, we loved it, but I don’t think we need more Verse stuff even though many Marvel live action or animated are going in that direction.

Supposedly part 4 may film this Fall. Justin Lin is a candidate to direct. It’s a Jeff Sneider scoop and it’s pay walled on his site.

Drew Goddard is another name. He’s been circling Spider-Man projects for years. Give him the chance finally!

Did Marvel finally settle with Sony as to the plot? A short while back it was reported that Marvel wants a scaled down Spider-Man/Daredevil team up movie set in Hell's Kitchen, whereas Sony was pushing for another No Way Home style adventure. Which is weird, cos I thought the deal was Marvel gets full creative control over Spider-Man and Sony gets all the side characters (Venom, Morbius, Madame Web, Kraven, etc) with no crossover potential unless Marvel says so.

Sony has probably some kind of veto power, so that Marvel doesn't sabotage the character.

Which is amusing since Sony would most likely be the one to sabotage it.

Justin Lin
Drew Goddard

I'd also throw in Neill Blomkamp since he's been a capable Sony director with a vfx background.

Sony did pretty well with the Spider-Man movies. Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 weren't that great but neither was Far From Home. The Spider-Verse movies are geat. Sony fails with Spider-Man connected movies, but Venom was at least solid and Let There Be Carnage wasn't worse than most of what Marvel is crapping out these days, at least ist was short.

Morbius and Madame Web are the stinkers but I've forgotten most of those movies already. I still know how bad Quantumania was.

I think Far From Home was much better received than the two Sony ones you mentioned.

It sure was, but at it's core it was a silly euro trip movie. Does anyone really think a market in the Netherlands is set 200 years ago with goats running around?

Wasn't really sure where to put this as I couldn't really find an old thread that it would pertain to and it doesn't seem like it needs its own thread. But seeing as how most of us are old farts here and many of us grew up watching the Saturday morning cartoon show, Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends, you may get a kick out of hearing the music from the show. Brings back a lot of memories for me watching this as a kid.

Here's the link to the Spotify album that was released that is the shorter versions:

Or the link to other services and the uncut versions:
Johnny Douglas - Spider-man and his amazing friends original music uncut (lnk.to)

And also released was the music to the 1982 Incredible Hulk Saturday morning cartoon:

I recently rewatched Homecoming and goddamn is that a great movie. I love the interactions with the other high school students. And jokes like the shitty in-school news broadcast will never not make me laugh.

I'd love to see a smaller-sized version of the story, especially since no one knows his secret identity again. A perfect time for him to do some "friendly neighborhood" stuff. Here's hoping the next installment is as good as the previous 3.

So… I guess Shang Chi 2 isn’t as on deck anytime soon… unless someone else is taking that over.

I guess they can sort of pick his brain as to what Marvel is up to and craft a story around that... so you know.. they don't have these open ended continuity problems. Maybe they bring Shang-Chi into this.. and head toward Doomsday and Secret Wars?

Didn't they tap him to direct the next Avengers movies, until they changed their minds?
