Really good project for her. If a WW3 gets green lighted, it’s not happening for at least 4-5 years that is if WB hires her again.

re: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (D: Jenkins)

After launching the Wonder Woman franchise, Patty Jenkins is ready to go to a galaxy far, far, away. She has been tapped to direct a new Star Wars movie Rogue Squadron for Disney and Lucasfilm. The announcement was made during the Disney earnings presentation Thursday.

This will be the next Star Wars film to be released and will focus on the fighter pilots made famous in the Star Wars films. It will mark the first feature film in the franchise to be directed by a woman.

The film joins Taika Waititi’s Star Wars movie which the studio is also currently developing. Jenkins’ film will be released on Christmas Day 2023.

That was some great promotional material. Extremely well done.

A movie is usually good if there is some passion from the creator. Sharing her father's story and why she wants to make this type of project gives it more credibility to me.

That was perfect. Helluva wait for the next SW flick though. Almost like they're putting thought into the projects and not rushing into them?

What a strange concept... if only they did that the last go around.

That was a badass promo!

Sounds like Disney realized their mistakes with the way they were handling Star Wars and are making the proper corrections!

Edit: ^ Hopefully I didn’t speak too soon. I just took a peek in the TVTalk forum. Holy Fuck there are a lot of Star Wars projects in the works!

Rogue Squadron was my favorite series of books to come out of the EU. Very excited for this.

Does this qualify as a video game adaptation?

It still BOGGLES MY FUCKING MIND how they approached Skywalker trilogy. Hey, this guys gonna make the first movie before the second and third are even outlined let alone written, then you make a sequel based on his movie, then, someone else will make the 3rd one based on the first 2. But then were gonna fire the 3rd guy and bring back the 1st guy, and most of his job will be undoing the things that sucked that the second guy did.

Are they gonna have to build another Death Star so they have something to blow up?

You joke, but I had a coworker in my movie theater days who would have LOVED that. Hell, some of the users on my other site, FlyerTalk, would dig that big time, I bet.

This movie is going to be awesome, and I bet similar to Rogue One.

re: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (D: Jenkins)

It seems like Rogue Squadron would make a better tv series than movie. I never read the books or comics, but I remember they were well-regarded among the fans of the EU.

re: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (D: Jenkins)

Is this Feige's first Star Wars project?

Agreed that this story would work better as a tv series. I've said it before, for the movies, they need a new big villain like the Yuuzhan Vong to kick off a new war.

No. This doesn’t seem to be the Feige project.

I hope they bring the Emperor back as the main villain.
