Looked and didn't see a thread for this. Jessica Chastain posted on Instagram the trailer is coming out tonight.

This opens January 15th. If theatres are open.

Good cast, bad director.

Looks pretty good. Reminds me of a female Mission Impossible type movie.

Between this and Ava I'm starting to wonder if it's Chastain's agent who keeps booking her into action roles, or if she's doing it herself. It's getting to the point where if she's in a movie, it's a given it will be woke as possible.

She’s doing it herself as she is a producer on both. She pitched the concept for this to Kinberg during Dark Phoenix.

I’m down for Chastain in action roles. I think she fits the bill nicely. I just want them to be good.

This one looks decent but a lot of that dialogue in the trailer was about as cliché as it gets. “I’m putting together a team and you’re the best at what you do!” “We need time join forces!” Ugh.

I’ll probably end up seeing this because I’m a sucker for Chastain and international action flicks.

New York Comic Con panel. Was just posted tonight. Chastain looks gorgeous.

Chastain is a good actor and all, but she just gives off a self-righteous vibe. She strikes me as the beautiful woman who would be good at pretending she's interested in a guy she meets at a bar while he picks up her tab and then friends him on FB with no intention of every really going on a date with him but thinks the guy will be totally ga-ga over having had the opportunity to flirt with a woman who looks like her.

So it's not about the making of the 355 tollway in the Chicago suburbs? How disappointing.

Is anybody waiting to watch this movie anyway? I don't get why Simon Kinberg is still getting constant work and a second chance as director.

This movie would probably make the same either way. It would actually benefit now as people are so starved for entertainment they may go. When released with all the other stuff on hold now no one will care.

They want to do a worldwide release for this. However, the pandemic is worse now than ever before and the many theatres around the world and here re-closed again.

Have the latest box office? The highest grossing movie this past weekend made $1.2M

Postponing this 1 year is too long IMO, but I get why they don't want to just dump this in January when the majority won't be watching. It's highly unlikely things will improve enough to have a healthy movie-going experience in 2 months.

This opens in theatres on Friday. I'll probably see it in theatres because I like the cast... but I'm not expecting much.

Yeah I'll be seeing it Friday. I do find some of the dialogue in the trailers corny. Especially that "We have to join forces" line. But, I do like the cast.

Just got out of it. There was probably 15 people in the audience I was in. Anyways, I'll get to the point. I'd give this a C+ and maybe a 6.5 out of 10.

The action scenes are pretty good IMO. There is one pretty awesome shoot out sequence. Chastain and some of the other ladies are good. But, Cruz is pretty much useless in this movie. If you watch it, you'll know why.

But a lot of the dialogue in some scenes is pretty corny. There are some plot holes and a villain reveal that's very predictable. And some scenes are just awkwardly staged/directed, especially the end scene.

The name 355 isnt even mentioned until the very end. If you have any interest and don't subscribe to a theater subscription program like AMC A-List, see a matinee. And honestly I don't think this is worth a $20 to 25 PVOD rental to stream at home. If you have no interest in going to the theater, wait until it's a $6 rental in a few months.

But I give it a moderate recommendation.

I'd agree... if you could've actually seen the scenes. They are all shot in poorly done shakycam and close-ups. There looked like there were some cool stunts and the actors did enough fight training... but you couldn't see it.

Pedestrian, derivative, predictable script. I can't believe Chastain continues to produce these.

Well, it was better than Ava at least.

I guess dex and I are the only ones in this forum who watched The 355 this weekend. Because it bombed. Maybe delaying it 1 full calendar year wasn't the best choice by Universal. Also, it got hampered by lack of a big promotional push because everyone is panicked right now because of Omicron. I don't think Chastain went out to promote it,
