Should Arrow releases be in one separate thread? (Domestic or International)
I do. And maybe if we generate enough response in this dedicated thread and people vote, then maybe, just maybe the lowlings if this DVDTalk forums might actually have a say.
Yes, undoubtedly, yes. They are just so unique in packaging and content. Kind of all over the map, in terms of content if you include Arrow Academy, but consistently on par with likes of Criterion in terms of restoration and such. Not so much packaging as Arrow wins hands down, but condition of video, audio, extras, they, along with Shout seem to big 3. With them having own thread, I really do think Arrow as well.

As a supporter of Arrow Video, I agree. The entire situation going on with Arrow's limited edition Django practically needs a thread of its own.

How much exposure will it get here? Isn’t better in HD?

Yes, the culture of this hobby is shifting, these things need better exposure.

I’m not really sure why there was a need to do a combined thread. Arrow releases enough titles where they warrant a thread. Not sure why it’s different than Criterion or Shout/Scream Factory having dedicated threads.

Obviously, yes, they should.

EDIT: I see I created the master thread, which I now remember. I did this to entice company rep participation (having them only need to post in one thread, instead of hunting down several). Obviously, things took an unexpected turn in March, but we're going to keep it this way for now because I'd still like to get MVD reps on the site to interact with you all. There also really aren't too many other releases from Blue Underground and the like?

Will it be a problem if we also make separate threads for breakout titles like those?

Yes from me. And ALL the individual indie label threads should be restored. The labels are unique and deserve discussion as such. The company that just happens to distribute them all, well, I do wonder just how much a rep would bring to the table. I barely bother with that combo thread, though; the discussion is kinda random and splintered, which dampens the motivation a wee bit.
True, but its worth noting that not everyone here has seen or already owns every Blue Underground title, or Arrow title or whatever. So when someone ‘discovers’ some older release and posts about it in the dedicated thread, it invariably gets the ball rolling for several more posts. I always enjoyed the cyclical nature of those threads, but moreso the fact that each label had its own discussion area. I’d wager that other folks here consider each company’s catalog as rather unique (and uniquely-curated) in comparison with the competition’s.
It’s very cool that MVD wants to participate, and hopefully they still will, but if that’s the case I’d also love to see reps from the actual labels — rather than their distributor — like Arrow, VS, Mondo Macabro etc. pop in too. And yes, I know that’s unlikely because most of these labels already interact fairly extensively with fans on social media, but hey. 🙂

I'm all for standout titles getting their own threads. We did the same thing when there were individual threads for some of these labels.

The "(Domestic or International)" part is interesting. Like, our International DVD Talk sub board is practically dead. And we talk about international Blu-rays a lot in the regular Blu-ray Talk sub board already. So keep it in the regular Blu-ray sub board.
