Rakuten?

I just got this e-mail from Rakuten Member Services, and it says I've got a $59 and change cashback balance. In the recent Cash Back Transactions it lists Circuit City and SmartBargains circa 2005 (and that's the top of the list), -both for just a few bucks. This sounds fishy, of course, but I thought I'd offer it for comment.

Note: Sorry about the little glitches, but I can't make them go away, -and I tried.

Re: Rakuten?

Saw something similar at phatwalletforums.com but for $13.74 and when they went into their account it showed $0.

Re: Rakuten?

Rakuten bought out E bates earlier this year and basically replaced the site with their own name. As a long-time E bates user, I haven't really noticed any differences.

Re: Rakuten?

Buy.com com was such a scetchy site that was an Amazon wannabe. They had the worst customer service and often didn't ship items that people ordered or refund items that were returned to them. I don't trust them now that they're name is changed to Rakuten. I've used ****** for years but after Rakuten bought them, they don't always add the percentage of sales to your quarterly rebate check total balance.

Re: Rakuten?

For some reason I'm reminded of DVD Soon, which was pretty decent for a little while, and then suddenly went topsy. I'd order a bunch of discs, get half, and the other half would be "out of stock". Instead of a refund, they'd give you credit, but you could only use a portion of that credit on any one item, -and the availability of their stock was more and more questionable.

Re: Rakuten?

My wife got redirected to a Rakuten site and nearly installed a whole lot of malware before she stopped and called me.

Total scam company
