At one Target store I visit, on the rare occasion I return a movie (with receipt), the cashier opens the package to see if the discs are present. This doesn't happen at every other Target location I visit. Does this happen at anyone else's stores? Are crooks opening movies, removing the discs, then shrinkwrapping them again?

My main problem with the practice is that I don't want to buy a movie that some cashier has opened and reshrinkwrapped before putting it back on the shelf.

Or the crook is the Target employee snapping a pic of the digital code before putting it back on the shelf... I'd bring it to the attention of the store manager next time it happens.

I've seen this happen quite often with media, I think because you can just cut a small slit on the bottom and slide the disk out (I assume, I've never tried it before).

I don't think they reshrinkwrap and sell them as new, though, they just toss them in the pile to get returned or discarded. This isn't Gamestop.

When I bought an Xbox One on sale black friday a few years back at Target, I decided to return it, and although it was sealed completely new, they went through and broke the seals, and opened it up, and then opened up the inside packaging to make sure everything was inside. I get why they would have to do that, but it was hard to watch.

The Targets and Walmarts usually require media returns to be sealed to be valid, so it would be strange for them to open them up.

I returned a few movies that I bought on online at Target that I found for cheaper around last black Friday at same store.

the customer service person did not open the returns,but they really looked over touch the shrink wrap to make sure it was not open and resealed. Kind of pissed me off at the time, as I thought I might have been done because I can pass for a bum on some days the clerk was not very friendly. LOL

This is in a small town, and the store is hardly ever busy. But it might be a memo coming down from the higher ups,as it might be a problem with thieves.

Whenever I've returned media at a Target or Walmart, clerks go over the case looking for any possible malfeasance.
