Yeah the FINALE looks crazy... Loved the hug that Barbara gave Lee and also the almost double stab between Ed & Oswald

Re: Gotham (S5E11) -- "They Did What?" -- 4/18/19

TV’s Catwoman will look quite different in Gotham‘s series finale.

Camren Bicondova, who has been with the Batman prequel series since the 2014 pilot, has confirmed that last Thursday’s penultimate episode marked her final appearance as Selina Kyle. She will be succeeded in the April 25 swan song by Banshee vet Lili Simmons, following a 10-year time jump.

“It’s important to me that I’m the one to tell you this because it was a choice that I made,” Bicondova wrote on Twitter. “I wanted to give (the character) Selina Kyle as much respect as possible. Some will say that giving her respect would include seeing the character through to the end of the show, which I understand. But, I firmly believe that part of leaving a legacy and being part of a legacy means knowing when to pass the torch to someone else. I was blessed to be the vessel for Selina Kyle for her formative teen years, and it only felt right to give someone else the torch for her adult self.

“The woman who will be playing the older Selina Kyle is the glorious Lili Simmons, who, when I met for the first time, made me cry tears of joy,” her statement continued. “She is perfect for this role, and she really wanted to do Selina right. We spoke about Selina Kyle for hours; I shared journal entries and scenes that were prime examples of Selina’s characteristics, and she shared thoughts of backstory for the 10 years that the audience didn’t see. I want to clearly express how much thought and care went into this decision, as well as how much respect for the character and legacy of Selina Kyle there is within it. I was blessed to be the seventh female actor to play Selina Kyle, the first to play her in Gotham‘s adaptation — and now, there will be an eighth woman part of DC Comics’ Catwoman legacy. That makes me proud.”

As previously reported, Gotham‘s farewell (watch trailer here) will feature Bruce Wayne finally transforming into the Dark Knight. Set a decade into the future, “The Beginning…” finds Bruce set to return to Gotham for the opening of the new Wayne Tower, while “a series of crimes leads Gordon to believe Penguin and The Riddler are up to their old tricks,” according to the official logline. “When Bullock is framed for a murder, Gordon begins to piece together an even more sinister plot targeting the city, and a new figure emerges from the shadows to be the hero Gotham desperately needs.”

I stopped watching this a long time ago, but I may watch the finale just to see what they do.

Actress Camren Bicondova had some troubles after season four ended. People were really worried about her mental health. She shaved off all her hair and gained a lot of weight for a network actress under contract. She's been wearing a wig all season.

So I guess Selina goes through a growth spurt, lol. The new actress is 5" taller.

She mentioned on social media or in an article about having been in a "domestically abusive" relationship, though she wasn't very specific about what she meant (not that she has to be, of course).

I would prefer that David Mazouz not attempt to play the fully adult Bruce Wayne and Batman, as well.

I'm wondering how they're going to pull that off. I could see him, -since the shot's in the preview, -making the trek to The East for his disappearance, -and perhaps not actually appearing thereafter; we'll just see the shadowy caped figure ten years later. I'll be surprised if we see a full-on Batman appearance.

He was brutally stiff in the closing scenes from this episode playing a "serious" Bruce Wayne. You would think by now his agent would have gotten him an acting coach.

Hope they have a different actress to play Barbara Gordon. A 10 year old little baby would be silly.

Actually, this is the episode I've been waiting for, -the pay-off to the whole series. It may well be terrible, -the whole series is odd even at it's best, -but I'm looking forward to this episode.

It's a shame it's not a two hour show. They have more than enough material to work with. I been here since episode one. It's been a challenge to keep watching sometimes, but I think this last episode will make it all worthwhile.

I gave up on the show a few seasons ago as the episodes just piled up on my DVR but I'm planning to watch the finale and am looking forward to Lili Simmons' turn as Catwoman.

I just watched this episode last night. He was real bad. Both him and Selena looked like they were having muscle issues and were overly stiff.

I thought the same for Smallville and ended up disappointed.

Generally season five has taken a step back in quality from prior Gotham seasons. I hope this flashforward turns out well but my expectations this time around are pretty low.

Re: Gotham (S5E11) -- "They Did What?" -- 4/18/19

over a year late but I'm finally watching season 5
so Selina finally starts down the good path only to have Bruce break her heart. Guess we know why she turned back to being a criminal
