Desperate to leave his violent past behind in favor of his newfound passion, Barry is attempting to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting. But getting out is messy. While Barry has eliminated many of the external factors that pushed him towards violence, he soon discovers they weren't the only forces at play. What is it about his own psyche that led him to become a killer in the first place?
The dark comedy series BARRY, starring Emmy(R) winner Bill Hader, returns for its eight-episode second season SUNDAY, MARCH 31 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT) on HBO. Alec Berg (HBO's "Silicon Valley") and Hader ("Saturday Night Live") are co-creators, executive producers, directors and writers. Other cast regulars include: Stephen Root ("Get Out") as Monroe Fuches, Barry's former handler, contemplating a future without his primary source of income; Sarah Goldberg ("Hindsight") as Sally, a dedicated acting student who is Barry's love interest; Anthony Carrigan ("Gotham") as Noho Hank, now in the hot seat as the new head of the Chechen mob in LA; and Emmy(R) winner Henry Winkler ("Arrested Development") as Gene Cousineau, a pompous yet endearing acting teacher who takes Barry under his wing.
As season two opens, Barry struggles to focus exclusively on the theater and his girlfriend and classmate Sally, hoping against hope to rid himself of the ties that bind him to the Chechen mob group now led by Noho Hank, who ascended to the top job after Barry whacked his boss last season. Although he's persuaded grieving acting coach Gene Cousineau to return to class, Barry is incapable of extricating himself from a violent criminal triangle involving the Chechen, Bolivian and Burmese underworlds - not to mention some deeply suspicious LA detectives. Meanwhile, on the Midwest horizon looms Monroe Fuches, Barry's erstwhile boss, who has found it exceedingly difficult to hire a replacement in Cleveland as capable as his onetime ace assassin.

SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!!!
Really felt like a good ending point last season, so I'm really curious to see where they go this year.

I have to say I pretty much hated Bill Hader before seeing this show. What little I saw him on SNL back in the day put me off on him. I absolutely loved this show and couldn't have been more surprised by it, if you are on the fence I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

I thought was one of the best most unique shows that I have ever seen. I recommend it to everyone that I talk about tv shows with. I won't be renewing my HBO until Game of Thrones returns, but I will firing up HBO Go to watch Barry as soon as I renew.

I'll give it a shot, but I'm skeptical about where the show can go from here. The last episode had such a perfect ending ("Starting...now!"). It really felt final. After what Barry did, he is now a hatable character. I'm no longer going to be amused watching anything he does.

I liked that episode. Dark and unsettled. Will be curious to see where it goes.
Is Steven Root sick? He looked really thin and not well but wasn't sure if that was just supposed to be the character or not.

Good to hear.
Really surprised by the end of S2E2. Didn't expect them to go there, certainly not this early.

I was surprised as hell at the end of episode 4. Didn't see that coming.

I was also surprised at how casually it was revealed that Barry did kill Moss. While we pretty much knew that was what happened, they had been playing it as a bit of a mystery (though that was the only satisfactory conclusion), and I thought they might make a bigger scene of it.

I just didn't get the thinking behind this episode at all, which was written and directed by Hader. I know this is ostensibly a comedy, but very little of it made any sense.

I've yet to watch this show at all but after the GOT ended we watched a little bit of it and it was fucking hysterical and brutal. That fight with the dude and his shattered trachea was hilarious. I will definitely be catching up on it.

I thought this whole episode was going to be a dream and have him waking up and just shooting Ronny as soon as he walked in, lol! Boy was I wrong!

I don't think I've seen a plan go as sideways in TV or movie history.
Monroe tells Barry he has to kill the kid because she can identify him. How did he know the kid saw Barry's face? Barry never mentioned it.

i loved this episode. So funny to see these two completely fuck this thing up and still have it work out relatively okay.
And Barry ripping out his stitches made my whole body convulse. I involuntarily clapped my hands too and scared the dog off my lap

Didn't expect to fully enjoy a non NoHo Hank episode this much but the Barry/Monroe dynamic is still magic.

Season 2 has taken the show to a new level.
That feral mongoose gave them a lot of problems lol.
Ronny was almost a dead ringer for Jon Hamm.

That was maybe the oddest half hour of TV I have seen in quite a while. It just kept getting crazier and crazier
