How old is Nora supposed to be in the show? I ask because she sometimes reminds me of the girl from Taken that was supposed to be 18 but acts like she's 12. Nora was acting 12 the whole episode last night.

She's been acting 12 the whole season.

Can't stand the Cicada villain. Wish they wouldn't have season-long villains. Just do 3-4 episode arcs with a villain.

Think I'm going to jump ship on this show after this season.

She's been acting like a 10 year old kid all season. Either her mother kept her locked in a closet all her life or she's just mentally-stunted.

I agree that season long villains certainly hasn't worked for the Arrowverse. 3-4 episode arcs would be great, but even if they were willing to do half-season "big bads" or cut seasons in half it would infinitely be better than the drawn out seasons we get.

I think I'll probably jump ship on all the DC shows on The CW except for Black Lightning after next season's crossover event when Arrow officially ends if the rest of the shows aren't showing signs of improvement by then.

Legends is the only one I reallly like at this point. Never watched Arrow (except for crossovers) or BL and dumped Supergirl after last season.

My wife and I just have this episode left and we'll be all caught up. My goodness I hate the Nora character. Worst. Character. Ever. And here's something I can't figure out: if she's sending telegrams to Thawne in the future via Gideon, what's with the zipping back and forth in the timeline to see him in person? Did I miss something?

She doesn't remember her father, so she was a baby in 2024 when the Flash disappears, according to the oft-referenced newspaper article provided by Gideon. So she was born in 2023 or early 2024.

When she visits Thawn, we can only assume that his her "present" in 2049, so she is 25-26 years old. I don't think her behavior is that much of s stretch.

After being betrayed by Wells/Thawne and Fake Jay Garrick/Zoom, Barry did the right thing and deposit his daughter into a cell.

The Flash Hit Series' Lowest Ratings Last Week

The Flash hit a series low in ratings on The CW with last week's episode, "Failure is an Orphan." Adapting the DC Comics character of the same name, The Flash has been consistently the highest rated superhero series on the network. It has even surpassed the show it spun out of: Arrow. Although Arrow is considered the creative nexus of The CW's interconnected DC multiverse with most heroes being compared to its series lead Oliver Queen The Flash is the most successful.

Re: The Flash (S5E17) — “Time Bomb” — 3/19/19

I'm starting to resent all the Marvel references this writing staff likes throwing in, episode after episode. I can't remember the last time I heard a DC reference on one of the Marvel productions.

And Cicada's ever-changing powers seem to be whatever that week's episode requires.

I would prefer the word "meta" banned from getting used on the Flash. It's like the writers are getting paid by how many times they can insert it into scripts.

Deadpool making meta-references to Green Lantern is about all I can think of.

Deadpool does refer to Cable being Dark and Moody like the DCEU

I know we have to suspend disbelief on this show, but Barry and Nora aren't trying anymore to hide that they are the Flash and whatever name Nora is using as her alias.

Ralph still has the best lines.

The rest of the show, well...New Cicada was down and out and once again instead of whisking her into a cell Barry decides to rush away the victim to keep her safe. Uh, putting Cicada in a cell would have kept everyone safe dumbass.

Can't Cicada take away his speed powers? If that's the case, the whisk-away plan wouldn't work.

That was awesome. When Barry just looks at her I said "Pipeline her!" and bam he did.

Re: The Flash (S5E17) — “Time Bomb” — 3/19/19

I love how, after a season of hammy over-the-top Batman-voice acting from Chris Klein, he finally did a decent acting job in this episode. And was promply killed off.

Their powers return while Cicada is unconscious/dazed. I also thought it was Cicada’s blades that remove powers, not Cicada him/herself? The show has been inconsistent in this.
