I stopped watching Z Nation in Season 2... Just too wacky for me. I'm wondering if this going to be more of the same or if it's going to be more like a World War Z series or a wannabe TWD?

I’ve stuck with Z-Nation each time a season started, but I don’t think I actually finished a season since S2 or S3. Like Koby alluded to, the show was tonally all over the map.
Kind of excited to see how this shapes up.
The trailer looks like Fear the Z-Nation.

I couldn't keep up with Z nation and tried several times to pick it back up. Enjoyed it in small doses but couldn't sustain my interest. Might give this one a shot and see where it goes.

Dammit ! i ready the premise for this show and was somewhat looking forward to giving it a go
Now i've read it's connected to Z Nation im disappointed
Just like just about everyone here, i gave up on Z Nation after a season and a bit. That one stupid blue guy was getting over the top

Got a notification for this, it sounded interesting. Add me to those surprised it was a prequel for Z Nation. They seem to be disguising the connection for some reason.

It’s more serious than zNation. It’s ok, The Walking Dead it isn’t I would say Fear level, and what Fear probably should have been. According to the show it’s about 6 weeks after the ZA . And while my optimism of people my be to rosy, I wonder if the level that people reach depicted here would happen that quickly, they got into the psycho community after 3 episodes. It’s only 8 episodes and some are under 40 min so I’ll finish it

Although I gave up on Walking Dead last season, and couldn't make it past a few episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, I've actually enjoyed Z Nation and have watched it all. It's not the depressing dirge-fest that TWD is, it's goofy, wacky fun and the characters are overall likable. So I'm in for this show.

I thought that was the “urban” remake of Grease.

I'm three episodes in and am enjoying this, but I'm confused about any connection to Z Nation. The show's tone, behavior of the zombies, etc. isn't the same at all. Oh well, I still find it entertaining so far.

Just finished the season. It was so uneven. Some great scenes with lots of tension. But the story flew completely off the rails at least three times, most notably the outpost episode. I thought maybe Gaspar Noé directed that one.

I assume since this is suppose to be years before Z, fresh zombies had more of their original human abilities. It has bugged me too how cognitive most of the zombies are, most won't team up on a meal instead go after another target.

This was a really good.
We tried ep 1 and next thing I know we were binging the whole thing. It's hard to think of it as in the same universe as Z Nation.
Liked
-The overall serious tone
-the intensity
-the connecting of characters and shots of characters crossing paths
Confusing
-The zombies didn't seem the same as Z Nation zombies. I do remember Z Nation had different types of Zombies so I chalked it up to that.
-The reason seemed to be more like the 28 Days later and World War Z

Hated the "Alone" episode. By the end of it, I was rooting for the Zombie.
Maybe I'm the minority, but I don't care for "titles" for each act. Starts to get annoying after a while.

I'm on episode 6 and luckily it is only an 8 episode season... cuz I would've quit this 3 episodes in. Not that good.

Overall, I enjoyed it, but what's the deal with the Korean girl? Is this show a Korean co-production and she's a well known actress there? It just felt odd that 99.9% of her lines were in Korean, but completely unsubtitled. It was especially jarring when in the seventh episode she had this long, completely untranslated soliloquy and some of the other characters seemed to act like they knew what she was saying. It really brought me out of the story.

The last couple episodes captured the chaos that would likely happen very well. Very disorienting, people panicking and killing other humans by mistake, thinking they were zombies (or getting hit in friendly fire). A bunch of zombies attacking scared, armed people like that would probably play out very similarly to that, I thought it was well done.

I'm three episodes in and like it so far. I really dont see a connection to Z nation but honestly that is a good thing. If that annoying big nose dude was on this I doubt I would last more than an episode. I was shocked to find out he was a high end model before he "started acting"

Z nation was garbage IMO.
This show is a rare gem for me on Netflix (of all places, lol literally just got done posting in the Netflix streaming thread about how dead it is). No boring breaks with overdone drama in this one - just people running for their lives and trying to survive.
I didn't mind the ending - it definitely fit perfectly with how the show flowed overall.

Binged this in one day. I really liked it. I was a fan of Z Nation and watched them all.
One thing I always liked about Z Nation and they did the same here, is 99% of the zombie action takes place in broad daylight. So you can see everything even if you are watching during the day.
I expected some kind of connection to Z Nation, but I didn't catch anything if there was.
