And I don't mean Amazon!

Amazon is one of the few games left in town if you want to import from Europe.

The only other big outlet I see with Euro retailers is Discogs. For some reason, their CD listings are dominated by Euro retailers. Though shipping prices to the States often make them less than appealing. International shipping rates have exploded in the past couple of years.

If you are looking for reasonably priced CDs, check out Bullmoose. They are one of the few remaining music chains left that charges fair prices for their used and new stock.

Why have international shipping rates gotten so out of hand in the last 2-3 years? I think it is something over $1 per ounce now, whereas 2 years ago, it was around $0.30 for media.

I used to import quite regularly, but haven't done so at all recently. Really is outrageous when you're paying as much in shipping as for the Blu-ray you're importing, thereby doubing its cost.

It's actually worse shipping from the USA to any other country than vice versa. 1 cd to Canada averages $10 postage.

A better question might be which European retailers will ship to North America. Many sell only to Europe or to an even smaller region. In the UK, I believe there are Amazon, Zavvi, Base, SimplyHE, Hive, and The Hut, although better labels like Network, Arrow, Powerhouse, etc. will also ship to us. Only rarely have I used anybody but Amazon when buying from France, Germany, or Italy, but did once make a list of over 20 German media sites. Unfortunately, I never got so far as finding the viable ones.
