Would be cool if users can show at the bottom of the forum to see who is online. No more ninjas. Well they can always have the option of being invisible if they want too.

Yay or nay?

Re: Users online

Going with Twikoff since I’ve never cared whether or not someone is online. I just go by how recent they posted something on a thread I’m reading.

Re: Users online

I don’t care much either way. I guess it’s kind of cool to see who’s online but you can sort of gauge it by how often people post.

Re: Users online

I always thought it was kind of neat to see how many users/guests were here at any given time, neater to actually see who was here.

Re: Users online

It would be more feasible now but, back in the day, there would be too many to track, thinking about lurkers and spammers.

The forum software can track and display it. The Blu-ray site has done it for years. I was thinking this site did it too many years ago, but not sure about that.

Some of the offshoots from this forum displayed users (from what I remember). Not sure I'd want to see a list of 3700 users, though. I guess some people would want to stalk others

3,700 users online here at DVDTalk at one time? Subtract a couple of zeroes.

Re: Users online

I say yes, I like clicking on names sometimes - I know you can do that from a users post but something about the names being piled up on the bottom just draws me in more - would also be cool to see all the lurkers - we have a bunch on here.
