Slayer Farewell Tour announced

Picked up a couple Meet & Greet VIP upgrade tickets @ $319 each.

GA Pit tickets are right at $100 each after fees.

The most I've spent on a show.

It would be cool if Dave Lombardo was part of the line up for their last tour. But I guess thats just wishful thinking.

Anthrax is third billed? Maybe behind Megadeth or something, but Lamb of God?

Re: Slayer Farewell Tour announced

Lamb of God are pretty huge. They appeal to a more casual metal fan and get big draws. Even though Anthrax is part of the big 4 they are def the most divisive. Many think Exodus or Testament are more deserving.

Sucks that Slayer is hanging it up. I enjoyed their last few albums. The last time I saw them was when they played the house of blues here in San Diego for comic con. Was a great show. I’ve seen all those bands but behemoth (who I like) so if I end up close to one of the shows I’ll def go.

Re: Slayer Farewell Tour announced

I would swap in Megadeth for Lamb of God, and Overkill for Behemoth, and that would have been a stacked classic thrash lineup. But I can understand wanting to get some relatively younger bands mixed in to get a better mix of fans.

It's only the presale so far, but the GA Pit is sold out and almost all of the lower level is sold even at the $100 per ticket prices for the Tinley Park IL show. It's possible that they will open up more seating on Friday when the general sale starts.

VIP Meet & Greet for Chicago are already sold out after one day, even at $320 a ticket. They are making a killing on this tour already.

Yeah, they're not doing an L.A. show, so Irivne is the closest to me and after mapping it it's 55 miles from home.

Re: Slayer Farewell Tour announced

I've never really liked Slayer, mostly due to the vocals. They've toured so much though, that I think they are the band I've seen the most live. Mostly 2000-2012ish, as I haven't seen them in several years.

Even though they're not my thing, I respect their legacy and lengthy run. They're one of the metal giants, and it'll be a bummer not having them around any more.

Love everything Slayer, including the last album Repentless. Never seen them live. Looks like I won't now. The Texas dates are midweek and I am too old for that shit.

Not going to Tinley Park for the Chicago area show. I hate that place. Awful place to see bands. I've seen Slayer probably close to 20 times before over the last 30+ years, so that'll have to do for me. I'll stil with my memories of the "real" Slayer.

The new Irvine theater is, like, 7 minutes from my house. Grabbed a GA pit ticket.

Final Leg announced a couple weeks back, figure it's worth a bump. I'll be driving to Moline to catch them for the 4th time on this farewell tour (Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis), might be 5th actually if I catch them at Riot Fest. Not a big fan of the opening acts on this leg at all though.

I'm the opposite. I'd like to see all of those openers, while I don't really care about Slayer all that much.

I am curious about how Primus goes over at a Slayer concert.

Maybe they will play some early Possessed tunes.

Hmm, Nile is the same night as Slayer. Debating which to go see. I love Slayer, but I've seen them three times, the most recent was a special Comic-Con show at the HOB in San Diego 2 or 3 years ago. Not sure I'm going to get much closer than that show. Plus I haven't seen Nile.

I hate that I missed them last year when they were here, wish they had a stop closer on this leg.
