There's been a bunch of talk lately about removing old forums, consolidating others, etc. As part of this, we've chatted a bit about combining DVD Bargains and Blu-ray Bargains into one forum.

The idea is that most of the discussion anymore involves:

• Weekly circulars at Best Buy, Target, etc. (which apply to both formats)
• Retailer-specific mega-threads (which apply to both formats)
• Sitewide discounts/coupon codes/sales (which often apply to both formats)

Really intense, format-specific discussions seem fairly rare anymore. How do you feel about these forums potentially being merged into one? Do you think they should remain separate, or does combining them make sense?

It was silly to ever separate them.

Seems like no one here reads or looks for DVD bargains let alone talks about buying new DVDs anymore. I say yes. If something worthwhile comes along that will probably get ignored being dumped in dvd bargains, at least it could catch the eye of someone who may be interested. Most likely it won’t bring about any discussion, but that’s another story.

Also combine the DVD and HD sections into one "software" section.

Merge- the "HD" sections were separate at first because that was a new and upcoming thing that not everyone had. The only "DVD Bargains" I go for nowadays are closeout titles anyway. It's gotten to the point even when I go into Big Lots I'll sometimes just look through the Blu-Rays and not even bother with the DVDs.
