Streaming & Screaming - What Horror Movies Are You Watching in October?

What horror movies are you streaming this month?

The Horror Movie Challenge starts up in a few days. I'm planning on streaming everything. I've got Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBOGo, Shudder, a decent Vudu library, and a bunch of Roku channels with free movies. So there's plenty of stuff to choose from.

It kicks off this Wednesday with Criterion movies. Hulu has almost the entire Criterion Collection. I'll probably watch Carnival of Souls and Diabolique. I might try to squeeze in Scanners or The Blob if I get a chance.

Shouldn't this be under Screaming Talk?

Don't have enough free time to actually participate in that challenge, but I did watch Cooties yesterday. Sure, it was more comedy than horror, and more like a pilot for a TV series than a full movie but dammit it's my contribution to horror watching.

Actually, it's not just Criterion movies tomorrow night. Once it starts, you can watch any eligible content. As for your question, a boatload.

I'm debating just doing 33 this year, the subset picks, and using my free time instead on our Horror Comic Book Challenge.

But if I cheat and get ahead of that pace, I'll just have to go for 100.

I kinda dropped out of the comic book challenges months ago, as I never found time to read. Plan to read my issues of the original run of Famous Monsters of Filmland and my kindle horror movie book while listening to Horror Etc podcasts starting today though.

I signed up for Full Moon Streaming. I'll probably cancel at the end of the month.

I watched Puppet Master. I think the last time I saw that was on VHS. The new remastered HD video looked really good.

I also watched Wild Man of Navidad at Shudder. I picked that to go with today's Bigfoot theme. It gets some decent reviews (DVDTalk Review), but I wasn't impressed.

I saw SHUDDER has Halloween 2, and with Prime having the first of the remakes, I can get both of them,

If anyone's trying to complete the "with commentary" challenge, you can stream movies with commentary tracks at ShoutFactoryTV. There's a Roku app.

Day of the Dead
Night of the Demons
Body Bags
Tower Block
Q, the Winged Serpent
The Final Terror
