KISS, now celebrating its 41th anniversary, has earned more gold album record awards than any American band in the history of the Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA) gold and platinum awards certifications.

In the last 41 years, KISS has earned 30 gold albums (26 KISS albums and 4 solo albums that were all released simultaneously — a feat never before achieved by any band). KISS has 14 platinum albums, with three albums being multi-platinum.

KISS were such a huge part of my pre-teen/teenage years. Congrats to all the guys who have played in KISS throughout the years, but a special thanks to those four young guys from NYC who helped make my younger years a memory to treasure. To Gene, Paul, Ace, & Peter. Cheers!

That's a weird distinction to make. Like when a movie is advertised as the #1 comedy in America when there are 3 action movies and dramas that grossed more at the box office.

Didn't they announce a farewell tour several years ago? While Sonic Boom wasn't terrible the last great Kiss album IMO was Revenge.
Whoever they hired for marketing should get paid greatly. They keep releasing these press releases without really ever doing anything but making Scooby Doo movies, coffins, arena football teams, etc.

Nope. We just prefer the Brits.

Don't think so but they have a stash of songs that they could just whip up in like 5 minutes. I think Paul is doing his "Soul" tour with that Gospel outfit he has going and he and Gene are opening up more Rock N Brew joints. I like that place. The Southwest Terminal at LAX is getting one. Delta already has one there.

Most industry people are aware that sale figures before the SoundScan era (1991) are mostly fiction manipulated by the record labels themselves. "Gold" records aren't much more than a marketing gimmick.
