School Days making the cut at #2 is expected. But they seriously think Code Geass is #1?

A lot of the list doesn't even have a shocking ending...

Uh... Gintama is still going, both anime and manga, isn't it?

I don't see how Naruto's ending (I assume the manga) is shocking at all.

Geass had a pretty shocking ending. Eva (the original TV ending) is still tops for me, I still remember buying that last VHS tape, watching it, and being so disappointed.

Zeta Gundam has a pretty sad ending.

But I think if you go into Berserk without knowing anything, that's gotta be one of the most shocking, out of nowhere endings to an anime (that has yet to be continued).

You could see the ending for #5 coming from a mile away about halfway through the series.

School Days would probably be my number one choice for this topic. What about Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day's ending was so shocking? There were a couple of surprising reveals but it was more emotional than anything else.

I guess it wasn't popular enough but Brynhildr in the Darkness has a devastating ending. The conclusion to Chaika the Coffin Princess was pretty startling.

Otaku USA shouldn't have used the word "shocking". That makes people think of something disturbing.

According to Crunchyroll:

Using that description, the list makes much more sense.

That does make more sense. Also it teases that Gintama fans are just trolling.

Gunbuster's ending was surprising to me at the time, still one of my favorite OAVs.

I've seen Angel Beats, and "shocking" is not a word I'd used to describe the ending.

I don't think Angel Beats should be on the list, but instead put Kanon on the list.
