RIP Chris Squire (1948 - 2015)

The passing of an absolute legend. Leukemia. Even if you weren't a fan of Yes or prog rock, you had to respect his mad talent

He was a fantastic bass player.

Another great one lost. Time is a bitch.

One of the most influential and greatest bassists (and he played with a pick).

I'm a huge Yes fan, saw them live in 1999. Listened to their albums countless times. RIP to one of the greats.

So awful to hear. One of my all time favorites and biggest influences on bass, and always the bassist I pointed to when closed-minded musicians question using a pick on bass. He will be sorely missed.

RIP. A legend. Huge fan of 70's era Yes especially Fragile, Close to the Edge, Relayer and Topograhic Oceans. First concert I ever saw...Cow Palace 1976 Yes/ Gentle Giant. It made a lifelong impact.

Loved Fish Out of Water too.

A really a sad day for music....thank God I saw them several times with original and other members (Travor R.). Squire was easily one of the Top 10 Bass players of all-time. Will be greatly missed...thanks for all the music Chris...job well done.

I don't generally notice the bass line, but I noticed his. Really good.

Yes mixed the bass much higher in the mix than most bands and especially most progressive bands. Long Distance Runaround is probably my favorite Squier bassline.

Respect.

The guy was a monster on his "tool". Saw Yes in the round on the Tormato tour. Great show! Also have and enjoy many of the band's video releases. Can also recommend his collaboration 2012 with Steve Hackett "Squackett".

Me, too. There's no good reason to leave that material unreleased forever...

I had no clue he did an album with Steve Hackett! I'm going to check that out, thanks!
