I'm assuming we all remember this? I was actually really fucking tired of hearing of these guys.

This was such an amazing story. It was only a matter of time before they made a movie out of it.

It's good to see Lou Diamond Phillips again. I've always been a fan of his.

Let's take a tragedy and turn it into a film so we can get an Oscar.

What was the tragedy? No one died; all the miners were rescued.

The tragedy occurred when we were all beaten to death with this news story for weeks/months.

It was an awesome tale of survival. I'll see it.

I bet.

I'm iffy on this. Usually these things go too sentimental and hokey. Banderas is always a joy to see. So I'm pretty much just seeing this for him.

Not sure if this is any different than the international one.

It plays w/ a generic popular emotional song and is edited in a more mainstream manner. It's shifted around a bit too.

That actually is a bad trailer.

White people love that shit though. The generic story of hope and a good ending.

This movie seems to really be bringing out your ethnic pride.

I read the book and really liked it. Didn't realize this movie was being made until I saw an ad during the World Series tonight. I'll try to catch it in a theater.

Donald Trump walks out of the theater with a tear running down his cheek.

"I take back everything I've ever said about the Mexicans."

"But Mr. Trump, those were Chileans..."

"Chileans, Mexicans, whatever."

Shit looks tacky with some horrible accents. Could have been filmed in Spanish but then you couldn't have Gabriel Byrne, Juliette Binoche, Lou Diamond Phillips & Naomi Scott playing Chileans. I know, I know, profits are more important than realism.

Screw this, I'm going to go watch The Impossible.

White people don't like that shit either, why do you think so many of these bomb so badly? Unless they cast a big female lead and it is about race relations, these kinds of movies don't sell anymore and they still try to sell them like they did in the 80s.

That said, I do agree it's a pretty bad trailer. Looks like pure schmaltz.

Looks like a TV movie to me. Why anyone would watch this in a theater is beyond me...

Does this come on ABC Family this Sunday or did I already miss it?
