I saw a film on late-night TV about 30 years ago that took place in the early 1970s New York City where a guy dressed in a trench coat and a fedora stepped onto a transit bus and sat at the back of the bus.

He then pulled out a machine gun and shot everyone on the bus and walked away.

The next scene has policemen on the bus taking notes with one cop casually sitting on the bus next to a dead guy.

I only saw this movie once and have always wondered what movie I was watching.

Any ideas?

What you described is very similar to the beginning of THE LAUGHING POLICEMAN (1973)...except that was San Francisco.

Let's keep this going--does anyone know what movie it is where the hero snaps a henchman's neck, from behind, and then does the SHH sign (quiet sign) in his ear while the bad guy dies? I would've sworn it was Arnold, but I recently watched a deal on Youtube with all of his kills and it wasn't on there.
