Star Trek feature film writer/producer Harve Bennett dies at 84

Sad news. Harve co-wrote/wrote and Produced Star Trek 2 through 5. I think he was really under-credited in the success of the original film series.

Harve is also known for a lot of TV work including The Bionic Woman.

He was a major force in '70s and '80s entertainment. RIP.

There's a great story about Harve being called into the Paramount offices and the "big wigs" asking him what he thought about "Star Trek: The Motion Picture". Harve looked them in the eye and said, "I thought it was boring."

He got the job (as producer of Star Trek II), and the rest is history. He's widely known among the original cast as "The Man Who Saved Star Trek".
