I just want to know if there is anyway to watch Gundam Unicorn besides renting the episodes for $3 each on the PlayStation Store.

Buy the DVDs from Sunrise (distributed by RightStuf). Blu-ray is becoming discontinued (essentially Japanese import with English version cover)
Streaming wise, PSN maybe it. Sometimes GundamInfo YouTube channel streams select episodes for select regions in SE Asia (with English subtitles).
