Best Animated Movies of the last 5 years ?
I've missed a lot of animated movies over the last few years but having watched a few recently like Big Hero 6 and How to train your dragon, i realise they really do kick ass when done right
Aside from Wreck it Ralph, what other animated movies are of the same quality as the above mentioned movies made in the last 5 years ?

Despicable Me 1 and 2 are good; not quite at that awesome quality, but fun and entertaining. All the Disney movies have been solid; Tangled, Wreck it Ralph, Frozen, and Big Hero 6. How to Train your Dragon 2 was also pretty good, although I had issues with it.

Frozen, due to it being a really good Disney musical. Wreck-It Ralph is a good runner-up.

Despicable Me 1 was a hoot. We enjoyed A Cat in Paris. The Lego Movie rocked.
It's from way back in 2008, but check out Sita Sings the Blues. I bought the $20 DVD cover.

I'm having a hard time coming up with a truly GREAT one. For me, quite a few of the ones mentioned have plenty of flaws.
Frozen - excellent musical direction, good cast/characters but pretty weak story
Tangled - great story & characters but forgettable soundtrack
Despicable Me 2 - just awful, pointless and soulless sequel
Toy Story 3 - great intro/setup & premise and AMAZING third act but Act 2 was lacking and felt by-the-numbers
The Lego Movie - more clever than it was funny. A lot of the humor felt forced.
That leaves:
Big Hero 6 - Waiting to see it a second time but from the first viewing, I loved it but the supporting cast was poorly developed. Hiro, Tadashi and Baymax were the emotional core of the film and could have carried it on their own.
Wreck-it-Ralph - No qualms with this one. Fantastic from start to finish.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 - I guess this is my pick. You have an animated character that actually aged which was awesome to see. The stakes were higher, the characters had emotional development and overall, I think passes the first film.

Just rewatched Princess and the Frog this morning with my daughter. Really great film. Music is very good with well integrated musical sequences, funny jokes, great character designs, story is a bit over complicated, but all around extremely good film.

I finally caught up with this film after coming across some good word of mouth lately. My expectations were not very high, but I thought I'd check it out. Something to watch with the family. I was surprised how bad the film is overall. It had a lot of things going for it, but it had just as many crippling flaws. I'm surprised you guys liked it so much.
First of all the script is really talky, and has a lot of dialogue. I'm fine with that but you can tell the filmmakers don't have any faith that their audience will sit still for any of it so they have all the expositional dialogue spoken DURING action sequences. This was highly distracting and simply bad storytelling and totally contemptuous of the audience.
Second the whole world looked great and the unique dragon designs were fantastic, each one cooler than the last and the adult vikings, because they were so caricatured, looked excellent too, but the kids looked horrible. Their porcelain faces looked like a Final Fantasy cut scene from 1998; expressionless and plastic-y and awful. And they're the main characters!
Lastly, this was one of the most heinous examples I've seen lately of the always annoying screenwriting frustration where the whole conflict could be solved in ten seconds if the main characters would just get themselves in the same room at the same time and say ten words to one another. When the script requires that everyone be in constant ignorance of one another for the drama to be sustained I just check out. It's hack writing.
I'm talking about every scene where hicup, a character who is entirely confident during every other moment of the film, stammers and struggles to get a word in whenever he talks to his father. Sure their relationship is a difficult one, but he's not stammering because he's nervous he's stammering because the filmmakers know that this whole movie could be over in 2 minutes if the kid would just say, "I shot down the dragon that you all fear the most, and it turns out he's nice. I can ride him around the town."
Also, the kids’ stupid "comic relief" comments during the final battle were not funny and a distraction. It also seemed like they may have been looped in at the last minute in an effort to make the film "more funny".

for Princess & the Frog. It's a solid package like you said. Not sure where it fell short for others. I know being traditionally animated in a world of 3D/CG didn't help it at the B.O.Also, cool villain/design and you can't go wrong with Keith David, but he was just kinda 'there.' He was either not used enough, or could have just been left out once the curse is set in motion. It was kind of a weird imbalance with that character.

Wolf Children and Summer Wars, both by Mamoru Hosoda.
The Tale of Princess Kaguya, by Miyazaki's mentor, Isao Takahata.
From Up on Poppy Hill, also from Studio Ghibli, isn't bad.
If you forced me to pick an American one from the very few I've seen, Frozen.

Fantastic Mr. Fox was great.
Monsters vs. Aliens was a lot of fun.
Rango was very good, too. Really beautiful CG animation.
I liked Brave quite a bit, though I went in with lowered expectations after seeing a lot of mixed reviews.

I forgot that film, another excellent choice.
I weep for the world if Frozen is the best animated film of the past five years. A couple of cute songs and great character designs don't make an entire movie.
I will throw in Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (the Movie). Probably the best anime to come from television in the past five years if you think Puella Magi Madoka Magica doesn't count, since its appeal is far more limited to genre fans.

Despicable Me series has been good, as have the Kung Fu Panda, we pretty much watch everything that Disney/Pixar spits out.
