This is our first look at the historical comedy film Elvis & Nixon, which features Kevin Spacey as Nixon and Michael Shannon as Elvis. This is truly an intriguing true story, and it’s sure to make for a great movie.
Elvis & Nixon follows two men at the height of their powers, conscious they could not stay on top forever, both ripped with fear of the inevitable, sharing one famous private moment in the Oval office. The film recounts the morning of December 21st 1970, when the King of Rock’ n Roll (Shannon) showed up on the White House lawn to request a meeting with the most powerful man in the world, President Richard Nixon (Spacey). He had a very urgent request: to be sworn in as an undercover Federal Agent at large. This intimate moment in the Oval office between two men at the height of their powers has never been told.
The movie also stars Evan Peters, Alex Pettyfer, Colin Hanks, Johnny Knoxville, Tracy Letts, and singer Sky Ferreira. Liza Johnson directed the movie from a screenplay written by Joey Sagal, Hanala Sagal, and actor Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride).

Sounds like something that could be knocked off in a 30 minute documentary or news program.
Frost/Nixon and now Elvis/Nixon... are we going to see movies based on people meeting Nixon?

I remember reading about this in one of the ELVIS books. If you see the picture, Elvis's eyes are all glassy and he's all drugged up. They also allowed him into the White House armed. He was in the bathroom and a pistol fell out of his pants. Not many people could get away with that.

It looks/sounds like Shannon and Spacey in costume failing at being Elvis and Nixon.

.....hrmmmm. I guess I'll watch that. I thought it'd look a bit better but I already have Prime... so... I'll give it a watch.

I like the leads, but based on the trailer that other flick with Crowe & Gosling looks much better and funnier than this.

FYI, none of that is true. He brought a gun to give as a gift and it was taken by the Secret Service. However Nixon did keep the gun and it is on display at the Nixon Library.
