Actors and actresses that have "lost" their natural accent?
Which actors and actresses have actually "lost" their natural accents? To clarify, I don't mean that they have perfected a new accent and always use it in public, such as during interviews, but use their natural accent at all other times. I mean that they have either purposefully changed their accent and now use their new accent all the time, or perhaps have used a different accent for so long that they have unintentionally suppressed their natural accent and for the most part, use that new accent out of habit?

Charlize Theron. She had a South African accent which she said she lost, and since this was a long time ago (probably pre Mighty Joe Young), I haven't heard it.

I remember Mel Gibson's accent was pretty thick during his Mad Max days. I know he was actually born in the USA but he had an Australian accent when he was younger.

Kathryn Beaumont (Disney's Alice & Wendy) appeared to have lost her accent in interviews I saw, but I guess she can still pull it off (Has credits in video games)
A little off-topic, but it was interesting to see (In the U.K. "Up" series) two of the participants lose their Brit accents (One became Yank and another became Aussie)

Christian Bale seems to speak more with his American accent than his English one when being interviewed. He only sounds British when he's yelling at a lighting guy on a film set.

Yeah. Bale usually stays with one accent depending on the situation.
Lately though he's more relaxed about it. And goes with whatever he favors.

Bale switches. If you watch the American Hustle interviews on the Blu-ray he's in full on English mode. Like in The Prestige.

I think during press stuff for BB and TDK he went American from what I saw. I know he switched it up with the TDKR interviews.

I think Kenneth (Carry On) Williams learned and stuck with a new accent/way of speaking that wasn't his original. Possibly to overcome a speech impediment... and I think there are other actors who've done something similar.
Surely the most famous forced/stuck with accent is Sir Sean Connery who's native sound is the almost incomprehensible Scottish, so he revised it into a calmer Scottish sound. And then later gave up trying to "put on" accents for work, and subsequently used the new-Scot in every role, whatever the character's history...

That's one accent that hasn't changed much.
