Help Identify Old Western Movie!

I'm trying to identify an old movie that I vaguely recall seeing as a child in the early 1970's.

The only facts I can clearly remember is that a person (cowboy?) was trapped in a cave. The cave was on the side of a cliff/mountain, and the entrance was seen at night when lightning flashed during a thunderstorm.

I know this is not much to go on, but I have been trying to identify this movie for years.

Thanks for any help!

Sounds vaguely like The Last Hunt (1956), but I believe the hero (Stewart Granger) was trapped in a cave by his old partner (Robert Taylor) during a blizzard. At least, I think the hero was in a cave...it was a great ending to the movie, anyway.

And the cave wasn't on the side of a mountain (up high), and the hero wasn't trapped by a rockslide or anything like that if that's what you meant. I do remember the lightning flashing at night showing the silhouette of the bad guy outside.

THE LAST HUNT is as good a guess as any. I've seen hundreds of westerns but I don't recall offhand any other one that might fit that description. You think it might have been a TV show, like "Gunsmoke" or "Bonanza"?

I'm pretty positive that it was a movie, as I remember it on the local "Big Movie" that came on after the late local news. The description I've read of the Last Hunt doesn't seem to fit. Thanks though!

I'm sure it won't be too hard to find. There hadn't been that many Westerns made by the 1970s.
