DEEP DISCOUNT B1G1 TV sets

http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cf...&viewType=list

Some good deals on blu-rays. Nurse Jackie S1-4, all Weeds season for 5-6 bucks after B1G1. Mad Men S1-S5 around 7.50 after B1G1.

Some decent deals on complete series sets, but the pairing and the surcharge is making me pass.

For a minute I thought Thriller (Karloff) was included at 1/2 of $44. I was wrong; it's not included. Oh well.........

Re: DEEP DISCOUNT B1G1 TV sets

The MSRP price, before discounts, for the early seasons of Mad Men blu rays should be $29.99, $39.99 for season 5 not the $17.99 showing at Deep Discount. Too bad Season 6 is at the correct price. Unless there has been a recent MSRP drop that is not yet reflected at Amazon, this could be a pricing error and worth getting now if you are in the market for this show.

Same is true for Nurse Jackie and Weeds. MSRPs are much lower at Deep Discount compared to Amazon.

For a change, this is a DD sale worth hunting through. I didn't find anything personally, but others may find some good deals in here. THere are a lot of titles to choose from. The trick is finding enough BOGOs at similar price levels to qualify for the free shipping.

Re: DEEP DISCOUNT B1G1 TV sets

I picked of six of the Jesse Stone's for $36 shipped. I think that was a decent enough deal. Especially since I missed out on the complete set of eight last week from Amazon at $43. I would have picked up the other two but one, for some reason, was not part of the BOGO sale.

Code does not seem to want to work for me when I picked "Weeds" S 8 and "Fresh Prince" seasons 1 & 2! Does this have to be only when you choose 2 of the same exact series??? I'm confused again! Good ole DD!!!

shouldn't, but the only order I made was of the same series, do I really don't know for sure.

BTW, some of the titles have similar B1G1 prices at DVD Planet, w/o having to pair up. They are a "little" more expensive, but not much. $35 min. at DVD Planet for free shipping though.

"Fresh Prince" seasons 1 & 2 is not eligible for this sale. It's not imprinted with
the 'TV BOGO' logo like Weeds Ssn 8.

Boy, do I miss the good ole days of DD when ALL their TV box sets were eligible, not a select few.

I don't think that's ever been the case. Their 20% off sale included everything, but never the B1G1. IT was usually all Anchor Bay and Sony titles though, but not everything.

Re: DEEP DISCOUNT B1G1 TV sets

I do recall a very big box set sale, years ago (Got amazing deals on the 5 Charlie Chan sets from FOX and the 2 Mr Moto sets) but assume they were just film sets? Wasn't that big into tv series then.

I have also noticed that Bewitched: the Complete Series is shown in their banner for this sale, as being part of it, but can't find it listed at it's price point ($43.45), nor do I see the BOGO symbol on it's page... http://www.deepdiscount.com/dvd/bewi...mplete-series/
Is there a 2nd listing for this set somewhere, or just a big error on their part?

Ah! That's it! DD had those December sales of movie box sets, NOT tv, back in the days. Thanks to all for setting me straight!

No, it was part of BOGO, cause at the time I was bopping back and forth between DD & DVD Planet comparing prices and saw that DVDP, at the time, was selling it for half the price of DD.

The DD BOGO TV sale ends on 1/24/2014. My guess is that they probably had a limited amount allocated for this sale. Once sold, the price went back up.

I was tempted to buy Bewitched from DVDP, but didn't. I wound up purchasing Maverick Seasons 1 & 2 from DD. Since WB is issuing the remaining seasons On Demand, I'm figuring it's only a matter of time before 1 & 2 goes OOP & get relegated to the same fate.

The Maverick sets were highly recommended on the review page here. For any doubters, the series just started airing (12/26) on Cozi TV where you can catch it weekday mornings and Saturday nights. So far it lives up to the hype.

Shoot, wish I Had seen Maverick was there! Just ordered S1 off of Amazon. Good point, it is likely they will end up MOD, and very expensive. (S3 is $50 right now)

They did both. There would be one for movies and another that was TV seasons. Most years they ran back to back. Amazon had the same B1G1 TV sale as DD during those years. The TV seasons usually went on sale the last week of December.

Maverick S3 is currently available as a *pressed* copy *IF* you order from either the Warner shop or the Warner Archives. But the price is the same (IMHO somewhat high) $50 (at least you get pressed). You can use this link to see what's still available as pressed. Once the pressed stock is depleted it goes fully MOD. S4 was just released but it's MOD only.

Kind of hard to BOGO when you can only find 1 that you really want. Dammit.

Prices on alot of these seem kind of high, for example: Revolution - Season 1, $42.72 at DD, $22.49 at Amazon. Saw alot of that in these prices.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious they raised the prices of these titles before the sale. I went through a couple pages and gave up on it.
