The Vampire Diaries -- "Original Sin" -- 10/17/13

Synopsis:

Original Sin" (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

SECRETS OF THE PAST - When Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Katherine (Nina Dobrev) have the same dream that Stefan (Paul Wesley) is in danger and desperately needs their help, they convince Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to help them find Stefan. However, their plans are thwarted by a mysterious young woman named Tessa (guest star Janina Gavankar) who seems to know everything about Stefan's history. In flashbacks to a distant time and place, Tessa reveals the shocking secrets in her past and what she has planned for the future. She also has a disturbing message for Damon about his own future. Silas (Paul Wesley) forces an unwilling accomplice to help him search for Katherine, leading to a confusing and life-threatening situation for Matt (Zach Roerig). Finally, Silas reveals the reason he's determined to find Katherine, and Damon and Elena face a disturbing new reality. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Melinda Hsu Taylor & Rebecca Sonnenshine (#503).

Katherine's blood being the cure now sure changes things.

Don't like the new promo picture. How are these girls going to get a education when the miss class all the time.

Stefan doesn't remember anything. I bet he'll fall in love with Elena again or fall in love with Matt.

I don't really care for the Silas story line. Thought the college stuff was more interesting.

this is the perfect time for Caroline to make her move on Stefan. So will Tessa be the one that resurrects Bonnie?

That didn't stop them from getting a high school diploma.

Really? Harvesting Katherine's blood as another cure? That's interesting.

at Stefan suffering amnesia.

I admit, I thought the flashback to ancient Greece with Qetsiyah and Silas was an interesting event. This show never runs short of finding the hotties. Liked seeing Janina Gavankar here. I guess a lot of you guys here know her from The League, but she was also on Arrow last season.

I do agree with Baron though, I'd like to see more stuff with Elena and Caroline in college.

She was also on True Blood two seasons ago. She does crazy well.

So can Katherine not become a vampire again? That would be a plausible explanation as to why she's still human and hasn't found a vamp to turn her.

She said she didn't want to be turned because she didn't know what would happen.

I've finally caught up with this season. I love how they just tossed out the old witch's name. Removing Silas's mind powers was the right move, it made the character way too powerful.

So are these supposed to be actual gypsies or is this some new type of secret society chasing Silas?

If her blood is the cure, can she even be turned? Wouldn't any vampire who bit her automatically turn human? Good way to get rid of some vamps, give her the Matt ring and send her out to be vamp bait. They bite and voila, back to human.

You dont have to bite someone to turn them in the VD universe do you? I thought they just needed to die with vampire blood in their system.

Just caught up as well. I always find this show fun as mini-marathons.

Anyway, I echo everything everybody has said. Some really good developments. For a minute I thought Tessa made Daemon invisible since Elana blew by him to go to Stephan.

Happy with some of the plot developments this year. The pacing seems like it's back to S1 and S2 form too. I think one of biggest pluses is that Klaus is gone. He was okay at first, but they kept him around for way too long. He ended up being a huge broken record.
