South Park finally misses an episode 10/16

[per South Park Studios]

Episode 1704 will not air tonight
On Tuesday night, South Park Studios lost power. From animation to rendering to editing and sound, all of our computers were down for hours and we were unable to finish episode 1704 "Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers" in time for air tonight. Trey Parker said, "It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen."

GOTH KIDS 3: DAWN OF THE POSERS will air next Wednesday, October 23rd. Tonight there will be encore, Live-Tweeted presentation of Scott Tenorman Must Die at 10p EST.

Re: South Park finally misses an episode 10/16

Given the grueling schedule they're on during a production run you had to figure it was bound to happen at some point during the shows history. They should've done a Halloween-ish episode and done live tweeting or gone completely off the wall and aired the Pip episode from Season 4 that's only aired twice on CC.

Expect a lot of DVRs to not record the episode next week since they will have thought it was already recorded tonight.

Was wondering what Chef was doing still alive and why Cartman was re-hashing his old parents in chili plan, then it dawned on me they were airing a repeat.

I'm checking the schedule and it looks like there's a rerun from earlier this season scheduled at 8, and then the "rerun" of tonight's episode airing at 8:30. I can't figure out which one to record.

Maybe they'll parody this in next week's episode...

Oh! Okay! I've been wondering about this. I recorded the midnight airing and was like "the intro is an old one"... I thought CC had pulled it after the first airing because of some controversy. Glad I didn't miss it after all! Here's hoping there's a Halloween episode next week!!!!

The lights went out because that episode sucked so bad! Easy one of the worst South Park episodes I have ever seen.

I was thinking the entire time, "Did we really wait two weeks for this?" It felt like a decade-old script they dusted the cobwebs off and decided to air it.

Re: South Park finally misses an episode 10/16

Obviously the reduction to 10 episodes this season has a lot more to do with Parker and Stone running out of ideas than anything else.

Would have been great if they had time to do something live-action. Like a show from the hot tub that they used to present the episodes on home video.

Heard this was the worst episode of the show ever.

No hyperbole.

I thought this episode was hilarious, but I love the Goth kids. And the random black Vamp kid.

Re: South Park finally misses an episode 10/16

I haven't seen it yet, but since it seems to be a sequel of sorts to the other goth kid episodes, I don't see this as a problem. That dark emo/vampire stuff is as popular as ever, so how is it not fitting? There's not much they could spoof in terms of pop culture in the past 2 weeks.

South Park has had plenty of turds that have fallen flat over the years. The 'worst episode of the series' tends to be crowned multiple times a season.

Was the adult black guy vamp a reference to something or just a random bit?

Re: South Park finally misses an episode 10/16

I like the goth kids and the things I guess I found funny were their interaction with the regular kids which this episode hardly had any of that. Maybe because there was hardly any of the main characters this episode? I don't know.

I will catch this one more time before crowing it one of my bottom 5 South Parks ever.

Re: South Park finally misses an episode 10/16

I wouldn't consider it an all-time bad episode, merely a highly forgettable one that blends in with their prior Emo spoofs.
