Witches of East End - new Lifetime series similar to Charmed
This new Lifetime series premiered on Sunday and I didn't see a thread for it.
Witches of East End is an American fantasy drama television series based on the novel of the same name by Melissa de la Cruz. Lifetime announced its intention to film a television pilot of the series in autumn of 2012, with filming taking place in Macon, Georgia and Wilmington, North Carolina. On January 31, 2013, Lifetime confirmed that they were ordering ten episodes with the intention of airing Witches of East End later that same year. The series stars Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Rachel Boston, and Mädchen Amick. The series premiered on October 6, 2013.
The show's pilot wasn't bad, like a soapier version of Charmed.

I did record the Pilot and it apparently got good ratings.
I like the ladies in this cast, so that was definitely a draw for me.

It does have a somewhat glossy, ABC-type feel to it. Lifetime is pushing past their self-imposed limits when it comes to sex and nudity with this show. There is one nude scene I was stunned made it to air.

Renewed for a 2nd season. Been pleasantly surprised with this. Got some gorgeous ladies and an interesting mythology. 13 episode order.
I know there are too many shows on and not everything gets attention here.

This has actually been one of the best new shows of the season. The good-looking cast doesn't hurt but the writing hasn't devolved into pure soap or camp yet.

The source material is The Witches of East End book series by Melissa de la Cruz.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the film.

I missed this thread earlier, but I've been watching this show and I like it. There are similarities to Charmed, but I like this show more because of the immortal and rebirth aspects of the characters and I like that is a bit darker than Charmed.
