Foyle's War - returning for a new series on Sunday
If you're a fan of WW2-era drama and detective stories, definitely check out this BBC series. It features brilliant acting, particularly by Michael Kitchen in the lead role. Also, the pitch-perfect sets and costume designs do fantastic world building of Britain during WW2. The ingenious and tightly scripted detective / police procedural writing completes the package. It's really good stuff.
The show is returning after a three year hiatus on PBS Sunday at 9PM ET. The story has moved forward into Cold War-era Britain and Foyle is more of an MI5 operative than a homicide detective, apparently. I'm not sure how many episodes this series will have, BBC has a wierd habit of calling three episodes a "series" with years in between. This show has been in production since 2003 and has produced a grand total of 22 episodes.
The back catalog is on Netflix if you want to catch up, which I highly recommend doing.

But they are something like 90 minute episodes.
I really liked the prior seasons/series but for some reason I like this less. Still great series but either I got overloaded with watching every prior episode on AcornTV or something about this period of time seems less interesting than WW2 Britain.
