Which movie will you be seeing on Memorial Day? Which do you think will make more money?

I won't see either. I might see Iron Man 3 or Star Trek since I haven't seen either of those yet.

I do plan on seeing both F&F and Hangover III eventually though. I'm not expecting much from either but I'm sure both will have entertaining bits.

Hangover makes more money.

I'll see F&F Fri night for sure. Probably won't catch HIII until a weeknight next week.

Fast and Furious 6 probably Friday or Saturday afternoon.

Hangover III I will probably see Sunday or later on. Have to work on Memorial Day.

Fast 6, definitely. The Hangover 2 sucked royally, so 3 will have to have great reviews to get me into the theater.

Probably Hangover 3. Didn't care for Fast Five.

My intuition is that F&F will take the b.o prize.

I have never seen any of the F&F films, but I was in the gym on Saturday and the first film came up on one of the TV screens at the front of the gym, so I turned off the J-pop on my iPod and watched the first half hour or so while I was on the exercise bike and I thought it compared favorably to the kind of car-heavy action pictures I used to see at grindhouses all the time in the 1970s (MOONSHINE COUNTY EXPRESS, THE GREAT TEXAS DYNAMITE CHASE, etc.). It had a nice B-movie/exploitation feel to it that perfectly fit the second- and third-tier stars employed (Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker, et al). Diesel would have made a great drive-in star in Roger Corman movies back in the day.

There's no doubt F&F6 will win the weekend. Hangover will get 2nd or 3rd.

I might take my gf to see HIII next week at the drive-in.

I will definitely go see Fast & Furious 6 on Memorial Day weekend. I am very excited for it.

I will likely see The Hangover 3 the following week.

Iron Man and Star Trek

Before Midnight, if it's playing anywhere .

Planning on both, as well as The Wages of Fear, which is playing relatively close by.

Voted neither although I might see Hangover III at some point just to complete the triple play although I'm certainly not going to be rushing out at any point to see it.

F&F franchise is disgusting and a portion of what I think is wrong with people today. Stupidity rules!

Furious 6 definitely. I've seen both Hangovers on video and I never got the big deal what was so funny about them. I don't drink alcohol so that might be part of the reason and that I just can't relate to the characters.

F&F 6 gets my movie dollar because the last one was so entertaining.

Hangover III is going to have to get awfully good reviews for me to see it in theaters. Felt so burned by the money-grab that was Part II.

Star Trek Into Darkness

Okay Grandpa.


Action heist movie with Dwayne Johnson (one of the most popular action stars right now), Hot chicks, Cool Cars & most of the returning cast...OMG, that's so fucking awful. Oh the humanity.

I'll probably see both this weekend. Probably catch one on Friday and the other Saturday. I'm actually more excited about The Hangover Part III even though The Hangover Part II wasn't that great. It looks like it should be a fun sequel and hopefully will make up for Part II being slightly disappointing. Fast & Furious 6 should be a good time too though and I've really enjoyed the last couple films in the series.

I don't know how you can call it disgusting while at the same time saying you might watch Hangover III, as though that's some how better material.

Although being familiar with your posts, I guess I shouldn't be that surprised.

Most likely Star Trek, both of those movies look like they suck.

Nothing like trashing one guilty pleasure (FF series) and admitting the desire to see another guilty pleasure (HIII). Don't delude yourself, neither are high art. Both are escapism fare perfect for summer.

The only difference between the two is one series is is coming off the biggest hit of the franchise while the other is coming off a [purported*] steaming pile of shit.

Edge goes to FF6 this weekend, but it might be naive to count out Trek.
*never saw HII as Hangover didn't impress me.

I might catch Hangover III just to complete the trilogy but that will no doubt occur way down the line on dvd or TV while I'm working online or doing something else.

The point is, they both suck. Both options are god awful! Nothing is opening this weekend around me that is worth checking out.

I guess F&F might be worth checking out if you want to go in and treat it like a MST3000 Comedy.

I know the trailer alone was hilarious! I was literally cracking up the first time I seen it. I mean, a car drove through the nose of a plane, without sustaining any real damage! THROUGH the NOSE!

How anyone can sit through something like that with a straight face is beyond me.
