Chef (2014, Favreau) S: Favreau, Downey, Vergara, Leguizamo, Cannavale, Johansson
Robert Downey Jr. has joined ensemble comedy Chef, reteaming with his Iron Man and Iron Man II director and co-star Jon Favreau. Favreau wrote and is helming the film. Also on board are Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Bobby Cannavale. Aldamisa International will start pre-sales in Cannes on the movie that’s based on an original idea from Favreau about a man who loses his job as a chef and starts a food truck to reclaim his artistic promise. Production starts July 8 in LA. Karen Gilchrist and Aldamisa co-chair Sergei Bespalov are producing. Aldamisa is financing with partner Kilburn Media and Mark Manuel. CAA packaged and is repping U.S. rights. The deal was negotiated by Jere Hausfater and Philip Elway on behalf of Aldamisa.

Favreau is huge now. And I don't mean in popularity. I just watched Swingers the other day and he was fit as hell back in the day. Hell, he was fit in Made, too.
Here's to never getting old. I will definitely check out Chef, though.

Saw this tonight. It's a light-hearted, feel-good comedy that entertains. Was hoping for a bit more food porn and cameos, but this was good.

I saw this last weekend at The Landmark, packed house. It's def light-hearted, but a fun movie non the less. Great writing, cameos, laughs and music. Highly recommended.

Saw this today. I really liked it a lot. A simple and predictable arc, is considerably elevated by an unbelievably good cast, fantastic pacing, and characters that felt real and deserving of my interest. Very subtle and nuanced film, with tons of little details that give the movie surprising depth. Definitely a movie I would watch again. Hoffman, RDJ and Scarlett Johansson are really terrific here. Worth seeking out.

When I saw the trailer in front of Neighbors and Favreau, Leguizamo and Cannavale were all in the same scene, that was all I needed. Probably seeing this today.

Fun movie, great chemistry between the kid, Favreau and Leguizamo. Would have liked more Cannavale, but it all definitely made me hungry.

Is this movie getting a full release? Only two theaters in Boston are showing it; nothing close to local.
