Magic In The Moonlight (2014) (D: Woody Allen; S: Emma Stone, Colin Firth)
Woody Allen’s new, untitled comedy will star Colin Firth and Emma Stone. The Gravier Productions film is produced by Allen’s longtime associates, Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum.
Set in the South of France, Allen will shoot the film this summer, once again collaborating with cinematographer Darius Khondji (MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, TO ROME WITH LOVE), production designer Anne Seibel (MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, TO ROME WITH LOVE) and costume designer Sonia Grande (MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, TO ROME WITH LOVE and VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA).
This latest film marks Allen’s second time filming in France and his eighth set in Europe. His previous European films are: TO ROME WITH LOVE (Rome), MIDNIGHT IN PARIS (Paris), YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER (London), VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA (Barcelona), CASSANDRA’S DREAM (London), SCOOP (London) and MATCH POINT (London).
Allen’s upcoming film, BLUE JASMINE, will be released on July 26 by Sony Pictures Classics.

Is he skipping 2013? I thought he already did France, Midnight in Paris was quite good.

BREAKING …The cast of Woody Allen’s last film is growing. Marcia Gay Harden and Jacki Weaver along with Eileen Atkins, Hamish Linklater and Simon McBurney have all joined the as yet untitled pic. As Deadline’s Mike Fleming Jr reported back in April, Emma Stone and Colin Firth have already signed on to the project. Currently filming in the south of France, the Gravier Productions film from Allen is being produced by Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum. This is the director’s second movie set in France after Midnight In Paris and Allen’s eighth project overall set in Europe. Allen’s Blue Jasmine, starring Alec Baldwin, Louis CK and Cate Blanchett among others, is set to be released by Sony Pictures Classics on July 26. Weaver is repped by ICM Partners. Harden is repped by UTA and Framework Entertainment.

His parents lived to be quite old and he's only 75. At the rate he makes films I could see him making 10-15 more if his health holds up.

This is nothing new, but still...Woody is amazing in regards to casting. He can seemingly get any actor he wants...anytime he wants. He has assembled some of the greatest casts in the history of the medium.
Some are better than others, but I look forward to each and every one of his films. He's so much better than all the big budget hacks combined that are currently plying their trade.

Woody Allen‘s movie titles certainly have that … Woody Alley vibe. His latest pic starring Emma Stone and Colin Firth and set in the South of France will be called Magic In The Moonlight, which evokes a certain other France-set Allen movie — Midnight In Paris. Sony Pictures Classics sure hopes so: that last SPC-distributed pic became Allen’s highest-grossing movie ever and landed four Oscar nominations, winning for Allen’s original script. Eileen Atkins, Marcia Gay Harden, Hamish Linklater, Simon McBurney and Jacki Weaver star in the new film, which has been given a July 26, 2014 release date.

Saw this today. The reviews are pretty mixed on it. While I'd agree it's a step down from Blue Jasmine, this was much better than To Rome With Love, which I really didn't care much for. Emma Stone is gorgeous (despite what that awful poster would lead you to believe) and Colin Firth was a great lead. Some beautiful production design on this one. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Saw it last night and liked it quite a bit. I'm wondering if the mixed reviews have anything to do with the resurfacing allegations against Allen.
It's much lighter than Blue Jasmine, closer in tone to Midnight in Paris. However, I think it's actually a much better movie than MiP.

sure some of the dialogue is witty and Colin Firth does an admirable job with his character - but man the story is soooo predictable and mundane... wtf Woody??

I saw this yesterday...I liked it, but it was closer to Curse of the Jade Scorpion than Midnight in Paris. Still enjoyable, but I thought Midnight in Paris was Brilliant.
