Is it me or does that packaging look a bit different in scope from when they first introduced this set a year or so ago?

This is the first release,I think it is OOP and cost more.
Looks way better and not as cheap the one Amazon had on sale today.
I do not much more about the first release set.

I have the original release. It sold out real fast and became real collectible. The second one is just a cardboard piece of ***.

When I first saw this DOTD, I was pretty excited because I didn't know that this had been replaced with the cardboard van. I almost bit, but glad I didn't. That original release is pretty cool.

Cardboard van or not, I still got in on this one.

Same here. Grew up on the show and never found or missed a similar price on the original set.

I admit I didn't look closely and thought it was the same plastic van; but it doesn't bother me too much.

Received my set today. The cardboard is actually pretty sturdy. The set is housed in a large keepcase rather than the cardboard sleeves the original set appears to have had. Overall, I'm satisfied.
