Directors Who Self-Distribute Their Films
Looking for filmmakers of note who self-release/distribute their films for home media.
A few years back I discovered Trent Harris' The Beaver Trilogy which features a young Sean Penn and Crispin Glover and is very interesting to say the least.

Jeff Lieberman recently made his 1988 film Remote Control available on pressed DVD and Blu-ray.

Frederick Wiseman has long had his entire body of work available on manufactured-on-demand DVD, including Titicut Follies.

Anyone else know of other worthwhile films that are only available directly from the filmmaker?

Shane Carruth is self-releasing Upstream Color, and he seems to have the rights to Primer (previously distributed by MGM), since he's offered it on his website.
