1 2 and 3 are great movies. Pure awesomeness. Everything great about cinematic escapism. I yearned to see more of them, but renege on that.

Will not watch the latest one. I'm long since done with this "franchise".

Ok. I just went to see it out of curiosity. Sure enough, it was better than Live Free or Die Hard, but that's not really saying much. It's was a passable action flick, but as a Die Hard movie it wasn't great.

Haven't seen A Good Day to Die Hard but my expectations are rock bottom so maybe I'll slightly enjoy it on first viewing!

A Good Day to Die Hard is a disappointing film, but it's not as bad as others make it out to be.

Yeah I agree A Good Day to Die Hard isn't great but people are really exaggerating how bad it is. Like I said in the other thread, this is Die Hard it's not like I expect a lot more than over the top action with a cheesy story/villain.

I'm actually surprised by how how many people like Die Hard 2. I always have found that one to be by far the weakest. Even for years when people trashed Live Free or Die Hard (mostly because it was PG-13).

I honesty can't believe to see DH2 held higher than DH3 from some of you guys. DH3 is still a bit too much but it's more in line w/ DH than DH2 went with.

I agree. Sure, it's disappointing, and it doesn't entirely feel like a Die Hard movie (especially with John McClane playing sidekick to his son for much of the movie), but it's still fairly entertaining. Once it starts rolling it doesn't really let up. Could it have been better? Absolutely - a lot better - but it could have been a lot worse, too.

I've said it before, but I really would like to see one final Die Hard movie taking the thing back to the beginning. McClane trapped in a building with the bad guys. Make it more suspenseful and have the action scaled back to a more human level. Maybe even have it take place during McClane's retirement party or something. And no buddy movie, this time. McClane should be on his own. Make it clear that this is the end, and hire a good writer and a good director and make damned sure it's worthy of the first 3 Die Hard movies.
