Best Buy is the new price leader and Amazon is nothing more than a follower these days. BB has received more of my money this year than in any year I can remember.

This has been $39.99 at BB since it came out and AKAIK has *not* gone up. Amazon's price has gone up and down like a yo-yo matching at times, mainly when it's in the ad, and not others. While I don't see it now, BB has had the MSRP of this set at ~$59.99 while Amazon shows it to be $95.99.

And I agree about BB being the price leader this season. But I usually just wait for Amazon to PM because I then don't pay sales tax, don't have to drive to BB (in the mall - another reason to avoid), don't have to deal with the disorganzied, low/non stocked shelves, don't have to deal with the mostly lousy and ill informed sales staff (who don't really seem to care unless you appear to be shopping for a large ticket item), don't have to *find* where a checkout is actually up and working and wait to check out. Of course if Amazon doesn't PM I'll try a home order *if* an item is in stock for shipping (frequently it's not) since they're doing free shipping on almost everything these days. I've tried store pickup a couple of times - mainly for "hot" deals I felt would not last until I got off work. It has been horrible every time and took longer than had I just walked in and got the product off the shelf because pickup is at the CS desk where there's typically one *slow* staffer and a half dozen people making returns.

I may have forgotten and may be wrong BUT I am pretty darn sure that this was lndeed $44.99 when it first came out @ BB. You can check that if you can but I'm fairly sure that I am corret on this...Because I bought it @ BB at that price when it 1rst came out @ BB! I am sure this is the CHEAPEST price this set has been since it has been released!

This is a perma$ale. Though, I will say that it was, for a while, only available for in-store pickup. Perhaps that's why Amazon has now pricematched.

Now for some Manzana wisdom... NOT

Fry's had this for $29.99 on 2 different occasions in August and September. Of course that was just past my 60 day return window at BB since I purchased it for $44.99 when it came out, so those of you getting it for $39.99 are doing $5 better than I did. A 60 day time window just isn't enough time. 90 days at Target and Walmart is better, but then neither store carries the Stooges set (as both Target and Walmart have tiny movie inventory these days, IMHO). And normally Amazon only PMs BB after being dragged kicking and screaming and only after I've already ordered from BB and it's too late to cancel. BB is the low price low inventory leader, and Amazon is the high inventory slowpoke follower whom I can never count on to PM anything until after I buy it somewhere else.

I still need to dump all of my Stooges VHS tapes since my understanding is the Stooges set has all Three Stooges shorts uncut...
