Okay, so they will hire someone else. Fine with me. I'm not surprised that Disney wants to make another Star Wars movie. It's such a lucrative franchise and them buying the rights only seals the deal that it will happen.

I heard this on AM radio and thought it was a joke at first, the whole "Episode VII" mention. Unbelievable stuff.

I am sure the bearded bastard will have something written into the contracts that the unaltered OT is to never be released or the entire thing is voided.

a new Star Wars every 2-3years.

Straight into the ground like a dart. If you thought Lucas whored Star Wars out, you've seen absolutely nothing yet. Anyone who thinks Episode 7 or any Disney created Star Wars films are going to come within a million light years of the original films, think again. There's been enough Star Wars films. Leave it alone, but this is Disney we're talking about. The best thing to come of this is folks who wanted the original trilogy on Blu-Ray will now get it. The bad news is Disney will literally ruin ILM and Skywalker Sound, and whore Stars Wars into oblivion. At least Lucas left them ILM and Skywalker alone and managed them well.

I'm shocked that lucasfilm, arts, ilm, and skywalker sound are only worth $4B.
is THX included as part of this still or were they already sold off?

No, Disney will whore it out. But considering we're talking 2 good movies, a handful of good books and a couple good videogames, they can do whatever they want. Skywalker Sound is a guaranteed Oscar nom every year.

Wish I could say I cared but Lucas burned up Star Wars' street cred years ago, a new movie may or may not be good but Star Wars has been merchandised to death for decades already.

I'm currently checking wikipedia to see if Oct 30th is some sort of prank day in another culture.
This can't be real...
Although I could believe this part

Anybody care to dial into this?
