I am looking to sell my DVD collection. I have about 500 movies. All purchased from 1997-2008. All are in great condition.

Do you think there is a market on here to sell it as a "lot"? I really dont want to take the time to piece it out. Before I type up a list I wanted to get some thoughts.

I would think it might be difficult to sell as a lot, unless it's marked way down. To sell 500 titles in a community like this, I would expect many would already own a fair number of the films in your collection. Just my opinion without knowing what you have.

Unfortunately the majority of people are only looking for blu's and the few like me that still collect dvd's are only looking for very few and for very cheap and unless you set this up for very cheap no one will buy a mystery lot so you'll have to disclose titles anyways. Best way to do it is to list all with prices and set a minimum i.e. 50 dollars worth to not have to go to the post for every single dvd.

Thanks guys! Looks like I will compile a list. I have a barcode scanner. Anyone know of an easy way that I can just scan them all and compile a list so I dont hav eto type anything? DVD profiler still around...LOL

Assuming you live in a populated area, I would recommend craigslist. No ebay/paypal fees. No shipping hassles.

I recently saw a 300 dvd lot on ebay that was going for over 500$. I didn't pay attention to the final price tho. The shipping was listed at 59$ too and the seller said it needed to be split between 4 or 5 packages.

I've sold 200+ DVDs this month on CL @ $1.50 to $2 each. It's not like DVD is a dying format.

The majority on dvdtalk may have moved on to blurays, but there are tons of buyers who are happy picking up used DVDs for $2 and less.
