The trailer had me interested slightly. Upon looking at the imdb it has a great director and writer attached.

Holy shit! How did I not know about this? A Paul Schrader movie written by Bret Easton Ellis? Two of my favorite writers working on the same movie. Awesome.

Having said that, I really, really dislike Lindsay Lohan and the trailer did nothing for me. And having said both of those things, I'm not going to miss this movie.

I wonder if Lindsay knew that her co-star James Deen made porns.

I'm sure it didn't take long for her to find out.

This is the movie that Lindsay Lohan told 10 crew members to strip to their boxers because she felt uncomfortable for a scene.

Makes "Liz & Dick" look like "Citizen Kane". Hopefully this will be the last we see of that Jersey trash other than on TMZ.

Is the movie in B&W now? First trailer was in color and gave a '70s grindhouse vibe. Now it looks like a '60s artsy flick.

Maybe Deen can persuade Lindsay to star in some other movies with him...

Movie with a pornstar as a lead, should be a good one

I swear this looks like a movie made by high school students. I don't know if the intent was to make it look wooden and terrible but if so, it succeeded.

Seriously people...don't go see this out of curiosity. Don't make this movie into some kind of so bad it's good cult phenomenon like The Room. This movie deserves to literally take in $0. Any production that voluntarily employs Lindsay Lohan deserves to fail miserably.

Couldn't agree more. Can't stand her.

I wasn't planning on seeing it...but now I will.

Lindsay Lohan's Comeback Isn't Good Enough for SXSW

In yet more bad news for Lindsay Lohan, her film The Canyons, which co-stars porn star James Deen, has reportedly been rejected from SXSW. An "insider" tells the Hollywood Reporter that the film has "quality issues" and an "ugliness and a deadness to it." Which, wow, harsh.



The one hope for Lohan in this whole saga was that there were notable, albeit not-in-their-prime creative types behind the camera. Director Paul Schrader wrote Taxi Driver and writer Bret Easton Ellis is, well, Bret Easton Ellis, Twitter account and all.



Based on this month's fascinating New York Times Magazine piece from the set, The Canyons sounded like a behind-the-scenes disaster. That said, author Stephen Rodrick explains that Schrader still had hope for the film, thinking it would get into Sundance — it didn't. Ellis, though, hated it, saying: "The film is so languorous. It’s an hour 30, and it seems like it’s three hours long. I saw this as a pranky noirish thriller, but Schrader turned it into, well, a Schrader film." Lohan, too, was not pleased, pretty much hating the movie at a private screening: "He showed the film to Lindsay and her mother, Dina, in October at his New York City apartment. They were both so furious about how the camera lingered on Deen that Schrader had to move Dina to another room to get through the screening." So she'll have to come up with some new excuses once The Canyons inevitably flops.

She picked it up and ripped it into pieces, cursing. (Lohan had been considered for a role in Stone’s “Savages,” but the director eventually passed.) She then went into the bedroom, calling out, “Does anyone want a beer?”"

The director was furious."

She threw a fit for not being picked for Savages? What a sad sack!

All this is missing is Lohan to say " I dont want to talk about it" and Deen saying " I'm fed up with this world". Just trying to make another "The Room". That movie turned out great because they all thought they were making an amazing movie. (of course all their stories change after people laugh at the film)

This trailer is much better. Makes it look like Grindhouse. That's the only way I will accept the film.

Unfortunatly Lindsay Lohan's trainwreck rollercoaster over the past 8 years has made it completly impossible for me to suspend my disbelief and believe her as a character in a film. I just can't take her seriously as an actor. Which is a shame because after Freaky Friday and Mean Girls I could have possibly seen her having Emma Stone's career or at the very least Anna Faris's.

I don't know... it feels to me like they shot a dull, flat-looking movie and are trying to salvage it in post-production with retro filters and effects in a last ditch effort to try to give it some personality or style. Just the fact that they also did that b&w noir-ish trailer makes me believe they're just throwing stuff out there in a desperate effort to give it some sort of hook other than 'Lindsay Lohan in another cinematic train wreck'.
