As we get nearer to the release of Skyfall I though we'd do some Bond related threads. This one being your favorite villain. Who's yours and why?

For me, it's Goldfinger. Goldfinger is such a classic. My favorite Bond line ever is Goldfinger's response to Bond's "Do you expect me to talk?"

Goldfinger: "No Mr. Bond I expect you to die!"

The delivery was perfect.

Hmm, not an easy choice. The obvious one is Blofeld, but I don't like all the Blofelds (esp the ones that have little screen time and just send their No. 2 to take care of Bond, like in Thunderball). I think Blofeld in OHMSS and DAF was more interesting. Other than that, I like Mr. Big and Zorin.

I had to go with Scaramanga. He always felt like Bond's Moriarty. Christopher Lee plays him so well, and I love the respect he has for Bond's abilities. He's also one of the few villains to get the film's title, along with Dr. No.

My second choice would be Alec Trevelyan. The personal element really adds a bigger impact than most Bond villains. I wish he had gotten away in Goldeneye, it would have been interesting for him to be a recurring villain like Blofeld.

The worst has to be either Dominic Greene or Elliot Carver.

David Bowie was supposed to play Max Zorin. How awesome would've that been?

Yeah, I'm still a big FRWL devotee.

Jaws and Oddjob weren't really villians but more of henchman.

I agree with Mondo Kane about best henchman. Grant is one of the fiercest villains in the Bond canon.

The Goldeneye villians. Also really like all the old classics, especially Jaws.

A hard choice to make but I went with Alec Trevelyan. As mentioned the personal element made it more interesting than a lot of the other Bond villains. I also liked Goldfinger and Scaramanga though too and of course Oddjob and Jaws are both classic and very memorable though I agree that they're more henchmen than main villains.

If it's favorite, it is definitely Max Zorin; for henchmen I too go with Mr Wint and Mr Kidd.

Red Grant from "From Russia, With Love". Although Klebb or Blofeld is usually referred to as the "villain" in the movie, it's Grant who is easily the most memorable (and deadly) here.

Disagree. Blofeld is without a doubt Bond's Moriarty. He murdered Bond's wife! This one is personal. Had always hoped the films would resurrect SPECTRE with Blofeld's daughter like in the Gardner novels.

I picked Scaramanga as well. He felt like a darker mirror image of James Bond. If Bond grew disillusioned with the goverment and decided to become a self-made freelance assassin, I feel he's become something like Scaramanga. And dude, it's Christopher Lee.

The Man With the Golden Gun tends to be viewed as a lesser Bond flick for most people, but it's always been one of my favorites.

Gotta go Trevelyan, because Goldeneye is my favorite Bond movie.
