He's great in a number of films stretching back to the early 1940s, but I most remember him and revere him as Captain Nemo in MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (1961).
He's also, like, the sixth 95-year-old actor to die this year, after Ernest Borgnine, Celeste Holm, R.G. Armstrong and Phyllis Diller, plus Japanese actress Isuzu Yamada.

It's always been other way around for me...Untill I finally started watching the Pink Panther films earlier this year...And his name always popped up whenever I was participating at the horror/cult challenges here.

Pink Panther is the BEST MOVIE SERIES OF ALL TIME.

The Pink Panther Strikes Again is the first PG rated movie I saw in the theater.

I saw him in many movies growing up. He had a really great voice.
I had forgotten until looking just now that he also played Christopher Walken's doctor in The Dead Zone (the two actors share the "If you could go back in time and kill Hitler, would you do it?" conversation that has become semi-famous over the years).
