Mostly agree with the list but #5 WTF?! Star Wars should've been on there.

Re: Top 11 Movie Themes

Combining Indiana Jones and Superman into one entry is horseshit. I don't care how similar they are. And they should have been higher.

#5 WTF, indeed. Kick that to the curb for Star Wars, which should be #1.

POTC is nowhere near as memorable to me as some of these others. I'm not sure I'd include that on my list.

Conan is too high, IMHO.

No Psycho? Jaws?

Re: Top 11 Movie Themes

This list might possibly suck more cock than the Nostalgia Critic himself.

11. Lord of the Rings
10. James Bond
9. Mission: Impossible
8. Terminator
7. Indiana Jones / Superman (tie)
6. Pirates of the Caribbean
5. Mortal Kombat
4. Rocky
3. Batman (Burton franchise)
2. Conan the Barbarian
1. Back to the Future

Iconic? For 10, 9, 8, 7, 4 and 1, yes. The best? Maybe.

11, 6, 5, 3 and 2 are just mind boggling. Fuck, both the Star Wars theme and The Imperial March are better than most of those choices.

Re: Top 11 Movie Themes

yeah that list blows. No Star Wars? Indiana Jones and Superman the same? Moron.

Problem with a list like this is it could quickly become too John Williams heavy, however Jaws is a glaring omission. Some standouts to me (and keeping it modern). Not all have that "fuck yeah" bombast this guy was clearly going for but some of these kick ass:

and out of left field, I'll toss a little love at a couple personal faves:

It might be a cooler idea to do a DVDtalk Top 25 themes poll/bracket.

Hey, cool. A "vlogger" who says fuck every 10 seconds. How "edgy".

The following entries are bullshit:

#9 (Mission Impossible): from a TV show
#8 (T2): from the first movie
#7 (Raiders and Superman): combining these two was idiotic
#5 (Mortal Kombat): from a video game

Re: Top 11 Movie Themes

Any list of top movie themes that doesn't include Star Wars is immediately irrelevant. Love or hate the movies, but they established some of the most memorable movie themes ever.

While I think it's one of the most iconic and recognizable uses of film score, the music was not originally written for the film which might be a reason it would be left off a list of movie themes. But otherwise yeah should be right there.

Yeah, I would disqualify 2001 from the offset.

Re: Top 11 Movie Themes

I think he's right on with Mortal Kombat. More movie themes should incorporate a manic man screaming the title of the movie over and over over a techno beat. Imagine how much better "Everything you always wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask" would have been.

Re: Top 11 Movie Themes

Godfather
Superman
Empire Strikes Back: Imperial March
Star Wars
2001: I really love all the music in this.
Blade Runner: Vangelis is underrated, "wait for me" is a nice one, someone made a nice BR fan video with it at youtube.
Eyes Wide Shut: orgy (Migrations, Masked Ball, one other can't remember name)
Halloween (not the Zombie one!)
Untouchables (Strength of Rigtheous Man)
Syriana

I think Ocean's 11-13 had some nice music too.

Re: Top 11 Movie Themes

Its not the "Top 11 Movie Themes" its the "Top 11 Fuck Yeah Movie Themes" as in one that elicits a "fuck yeah" feeling. Not just good or memorable overall. Also...opinions.

Didn't watch the video, but of those he listed (thank you M. Chmiel), Superman (the original) is my fav by a long shot.

Re: Top 11 Movie Themes

I get Superman and Indiana Jones confused all the time. Honestly, I do. I try to hum the Superman theme and invariably Indy will come out instead.
