Anyone else going? I've never been to a book signing before. Will they let you bring something else besides the book? I was thinking of bringing my dvd copy of Dark City for him to sign.

The link you provided says you need a receipt for one of his books to even be allowed in line. From the sounds of that, I wouldn't count on getting the DVD signed.

I've gone to signings where they "only allowed 1 item", but that's mainly to prevent people from showing up with a ton of shit. Usually, as long as everyone isn't a dick, they'll sign one more thing if you already bought whatever he's hocking.

I love his Citizen Kane commentary. I would have him sign my SE or his he on the BD?

I would take a DVD of a movie he hated. Maybe North or Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.

Have him autograph Beyond the Valley of the Dolls or Up!. We did a signing last year when he was in town for Toronto Film Festival. I didn't hear about it till after the fact and was sorry I missed it. Not sure how many signing appearances he has left in him.

Wonder how many people bring a copy of Blue Velvet.

$500 bucks if you flick your cigarette ashes into his mouth.

I would search to find discussions of his other recent signings to see what other people have experienced. I would bring another item but don't count on it getting signed. There will be helpers there running the signing. Line will move pretty fast since there won't be the usual interaction but I'd get there early. He can stop signing if he starts to get too tired.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect him to be too chatty.

I kinda wonder how they handle that. Even though it's obvious, I'm sure they tell people not to ask questions. Unless they have some way for him to interact?

He's pretty fast on his computer, but even then that would take too much time.
